How much would you give for Barkley or Griffin?

I know there has been a lot of talk about those two Qb prospects but I thought it might be a good idea to make a poll to know just how much Chiefs fans really want to draft a top QB prospect in 2012.

I am one of those who believe this team is more or less an above-average QB away from being possibly a contender every year.

Let's say the Chiefs have around the 10th pick in the upcoming draft and need to trade up 5 spots to pick before both the Redskins and the Dolphins who will likely draft the best QB available at their spot.

How much would you be willing to offer to make sure you have the chance to draft either Griffin III or Barkley?

BTW, I am not talking about Luck here because I personnally don't think there is any chance the Colts will trade the pick.

You can't say that with absolute certainty. If a huge bidding war starts than yeah it's going to take a lot. Assuming Urlacher doesn't throw anymore KC TD's the team will probably start losing again and be picking in the top 10. It would probably take something like a 1st, 2nd, and a 1st next year to move up to get the 2nd or 3rd QB. Then you look for a RT, NT and quality depth for the rest of the draft and during free agency.

Like I said it could take more if a bidding war starts, but I think there will be enough teams that decide to go a different retread route (Orton, Campbell, Flynn) that the asking price won't skyrocket for the #3-6 picks.

I don't fully understand the reason, but the fact is, draft picks are more valuable in trades that are proven players.

Until the season reaches it's conclusion, we won't really have any idea what it's going to take to move up where we need to be.

I can say, with certainty, that it's going to take more than it did before to trade up, especially for a QB, because of the rookie salary cap.

Why not? The leverage teams trying to trade up had was the amount of coin needed to drop on a high draft pick. They don't have that leverage anymore.

I don't think he is trying to be as racist as it seems. I think he is just trying to make a point about how if you are going to go purely on historical tendancies, then, a low round draft pick is a better probability to win a Super Bowl QB than a black QB.

The funny part is he actually makes an astute point. That is, there is not one single way to win a Super Bowl. QB's of all different rounds have won. And, I believe, white, black and hispanic QB's have won the Super Bowl.

Statistically, first round white QB's have historically been more successful. So, if we are going to use this rationale, then why would we consider a black QB?

Last year with that same cap anticipated to happen.

The Cleveland Browns traded the 6th overall pick to the Atlanta Falcons for Atlanta's first-rounder (27th overall), second-rounder (59th) and fourth-rounder (124th) and also Atlanta's first- and fourth-round selections in 2012.

And that's to move from the back to #6. I think the draft pick value chart will start to be relevant again, but I doubt you see an absolute kings ransom for top 5 picks.

Not over my head, dumbass.

You ignore the fact that black QB were rare as recently as 15 years ago with that stupidity.

You would have to be EXTREMELY ignorant to take my comment as any form of racism. You did a nice job of highlighting my point above. If your going to throw out stats all dau about 1st round QBs and their ability to win SB's then you have to look at the statistics behind what I said in my initial post.

What is this? Milkman was responding to jd saying that it will take a lot more to trade up in the draft because of the new rookie wage scale.

Not astute at all.

Statisticly, a larger percentage of black QBs have won the SB than white QBs within each group.
