Tebow: The Final Numbers

1729 passing yards (31st in NFL)
46.5 % completion percentage (by far the worst in the NFL)
6.4 yards per attempt (26th in NFL)
123.5 passing yards per game (worst in NFL, obviously)
12 passing touchdowns (27th in NFL)
72.9 QB rating (27th in NFL)

He is 26th in the NFL in his most prolific passing category. So awesome.

Take away that one pass to Decker and it is:

7 of 30 for 73 yards 0TD and 1 INT - Passer Rating of 25.69

Still pisses me off that one pass -- like 4-5 other plays -- kept us out of the post-season despite of all the crap this team survived.

W/L record is one of the worst measurables for a QB. I used to complain incessantly when the media would cite Steve Bono's W/L record as some kind of support for him being good. Unless you sustain a good W/L record over the course of a few years, it doesn't mean dick. Not to mention that 7-4 is hardly setting the world on fire.

I just don't see how anyone can look at this guy and think QBOTF. If he were on the Chiefs, he would be crucified (nopun). See: Matt Cassel.

If a pitcher has 15 wins with a 4.56 ERA, he must be good, right?

Elway thought he would play him to please the fans & please himself with a top 5 pick for a QB
I wonder how this rates on the GM fail scale

I don't know ... Xanders is the GM. Elway is a VP of Football Operations.

I believe their goals are to put their team in a position to win more games than they lose, win the division, win in the playoffs and ultimately win a Super Bowl.

They finished 8-8 (7-4 after the QB change).. won the division and host the Steelers in the wildcard round. Their decisions and fate played out well for them. Very few people expected them to be here prior to week 1 and nobody imagined it was possible after the 1-4 start and change to Tebow.

The other job is to make sure the franchise is set up well to sustain positive momentum and improve each year. That remains to be seen, but after 1 year of Elway/Xanders/Fox ... it was a mix of highs and lows, culminating in an odd finish to 8-8 with a division title.

The goal of team management is not to play for a draft position with 11 games left in a season. It's not to try and lose to make sure they don't fall outside the reach of being able to draft a potential QBotF or any other player.

They're doing their jobs... it's not always pretty. I think they are as mixed on what is happening as most of the fans. Yes, it's great that they turned 1-4 around and are sitting here with at least one game still to play. We'll see how it goes.

I think that if you asked every member of the team - they would have mixed feelings on how they've played, but I will bet that 100% of them are excited to be here right now... in the playoffs.

He also turned around a team which was ranked dead last in the NFL in rushing to #1 almost instantly. And took a team who was a contender for the Luck sweepstakes to the the playoffs.

Rushing stats for a running QB, for starters. He still sucks, but you seemingly intentionally eliminated a strength of his. 660 yards rushing for a 5.4 YPA and 6 TDs.

All I know is that I sincerely hope that the fans continue to pressure Elway and company to keep Tebow around for years to come. The longer that experiment continues, the better for us.

Because Fox sat a broke dick Moreno and gave the ball to McGahee and the fullback Tebow.

Why not credit a defense that kept Denver in games and got pick 6's. Not to mention Prater being money from 20-40 yards and exceptional at 50+.
