None of which matters because we have no QB.

Maybe Crennel wants McDaniels to be his OC?

Maybe we go stake out I70 say about Columbia, get some Bouches burgers and trops, sit and wait for Mcdaniels to drive under the last bridge there by the mall and run him down, ask him politely to go to NE.

Wow. Overreact anyone?

IF McDaniels is hired as the OC, then I am fine with it.

1) We know already they aren't going to get rid of Cassel this year, so I've given up worrying about it. Waste of breath. Might as well put him in the best position to succeed if that involves bringing in a coach who he is comfortable with and vice versa. Either he plays like an average to a sometimes slightly above average QB and helps this team get back to the playoffs, or he falls flat on his face. Either way, next year is probably the more logical time to start looking for his replacement than this year, because I don't think we're going to be able to leapfrog and outbid teams to move up for RG3.

2) If we hire McDaniels and put a dynamic offense on the field to go with an up and coming defense and win over the next three years or so, I would have no issue with him succeeding Crennel as the HC, because it would provide continuity to a winning program and he would not be calling the personnel shots. If instead the offense continues to suck and we continue to be a mediocre team, none of these guys are going to be around in a couple of years anyway and we'll be looking to hire the next big thing.

At the end of the day, if this is what Pioli wants, then it better translate into W's, otherwise he's done. The offense was pretty decent under another ex-Pats OC, so I'm not going to lose sleep over it if he does come here. I would be really pissed however if we hired yet another OL coach to be the OC, or did something like promote Maurice Carthon to that role...

You could have stopped right there.

McDaniels = Cassel.

Cassel <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< dynamic offense.

When I read this, it just strikes me as a "Well what can we do? Might as well just go with it kind of attitude."

That's the part that bugs me. They're suppose to be competing for our dollar. If their plan isn't to do that, then we have every right to show our displeasure and not attend games.

Absolutely. And if they lose, that's what will happen. That's what's been happening.

I have no issues expressing displeasure with the situation. But what I'm talking about here in regards to the displeasure with McDaniels as the OC is because it seems to be disliked mostly due to the idea that it means Matt Cassel will be here. Well, unfortunately, Matt Cassel will be here in 2012 with or without McDaniels. So, here are the options:

1) Matt Cassel + an OC he has had some success with in the past and runs a similar system to what Weis ran in his time here
2) Matt Cassel + someone who is not a proven OC
3) Matt Cassel + someone who is a former OL coach
4) Matt Cassel + someone who may have done a decent job elsewhere in the past but who has never worked with Cassel and who may bring a totally different style of offense that everyone will have to re-learn all over again

If the organization isn't getting rid of Cassel, then as a fan you have the right to express displeasure, not go to games, and not spend money on the team. But I'm still going to watch them on TV, and God help me, I'd take option 1 every time if Cassel is going to be behind center in Week 1.

I get the displeasure, but I think it's not really about McDaniels, it's about the idea that Cassel is going to be the QB...

So was I. But like Clark, I have my gun cocked waiting to see what he does next and if it works, great.

If not

If McDaniels demands that KC move up and grab RGIII, I'll welcome him with open arms.

Maybe it will finally open Piolis eyes if wonderboy Mcdaniels says he doesn't wanna work with Cassel.
