Contract Offered? This guys says so.

The Kansas City Chiefs apparently are not wasting any time in their pursuit of Peyton Manning.

The team that took on Joe Montana in the twilight of his career is apparently hoping for the same type of short-term revival with Manning, as radio host Brandon Spano reports, citing a source, that the Chiefs have already prepared a contract offer for the quarterback who has been on the open market less than 24 hours after officially clearing waivers on Thursday.

Of course, the Chiefs have plenty of competition for Manning, and it remains to be seen if the interest is mutual. But the Chiefs are apparently being among the most proactive of the Manning hopefuls.

I've already sent a contract on behalf of the Chiefs. I just hope they don't check Pioli's signature too closely.

And I hope that a contract sent to "Peyton Manning, RCA Dome, Indianapolis" gets delivered promptly. It was the only address I had.

ESPN: "The Chiefs sign Peyton Manning to a 3 year, eleventy billion dollar contract with a 20 million dollar bonus for A) winning a Super Bowl and B) pooping in Matt Cassel's locker before he gathers his things to take to the bus stop.

The written report suggests that an offer has been prepared. I guess it's possible they just fired it off to Peyton's agent, but isn't that sort of thing generally done in person? Maybe it was done as a showing of good faith to Manning: "We believe in you sight unseen" - as a way to perhaps gain a little bit of an edge.

Exciting, but I'm doing my damndest to keep from getting invested in this thing.
the article is using this tweet as a source:

BREAKING: Source says that the Chiefs were the ONLY team to offer a completed contract to Peyton Manning today. Says they are most prepared

have to say I am surprised if this is true...still can't fathom it

When they notice the contract gives Manning $14 Billion guaranteed I think they might figure somethings up.

Hidden on page 17 is a clause that says he has to hit Elway in the head with a pass during any warmups where Elway is present.

I'm still trying to suspend all excitement.

We'll probably get him signed and he'll show up to training camp in Weis's old power-scooter and a dead right leg or something.

I don't think Peyton would ever get that contract. He doesn't seem like the type of person to hang around demolished stadiums...

I'm trying not to get too excited here, and would rather get a true QBOTF, but with all the smoke there has to be some dissatisfaction with Cassel. Hopefully the team is ready to move on one way or another.

I thought we went over this shit last night.

Athan is likely this guy's source. Carlota even called in and the dude claimed he had a source coming out of KC.

Athan was on later heard spouting this same exact shit.

This is another baseless Athan rumor being spread by a poor fool who's never experienced the idiocy of Athan.
