What is this thing? (Photo enclosed.)
I do a lot of walking, and it seems like every week or two I'll see one of these wires lying on the sidewalk. Today I saw two of them several blocks apart. They're perhaps six to eight inches long.

What are these things? Where do they come from? They've always got that little minor corkscrew pattern, so there's got to be some reason why I keep seeing them.

It's a piece of wire 6-8" long. They probably come from some kind of factory that produces wire pieces 6-8" long. The reason you keep seeing them is because they are on the sidewalk where you walk.

I'm gonna go with its the wire from a huge wire brush thats used by those you see from a street cleaner. Probably from a carts sized one cleaning the sidewalk from time to time.
