Mike Wallace could be traded

Do not be surprised if Steelers trade Mike Wallace during training camp. They no longer believe they can sign him long term.

We won't even pay our own WR. There is no way in Hell we trade for Wallace, IMO.

you're probably right

but i get a feeling that Bowe wants more money than Wallace does. So if we could solve our contract problem and add a new dimension to our WR's then it could be a good thing.

just a thought

You wanna use the franchise QB thing, to support your argument. Fine. Then perhaps you should look a little deeper into this? Even when the Steelers didn't have a "franchise QB" in the 90s they still made the SuperBowl and competed in AFC championship games. Yet the Chiefs haven't won a playoff game in almost 20 years and havent made a SuperBowl since the Woodstock era.

Meanwhile, Steelers have managed to field really good defenses/teams. And have consistently found and produced great linebackers. They are just a better organization period. Better ownership, better scouting, better coaching. Period. Chiefs shouldn't even be discussed with the Steelers. I mean seriously. They couldn't even hold their jocks or sniff it.

You're talking about one franchise that is great and the other is mediocre to piss poor. It's like apples and oranges. Like I said before, and I say it again, Steelers are better than the Chiefs in almost every conceivable category.

The Steelers as a team are not the same team they were recently.

its hilarious that you bring up Neil O'Donnel.

IF the chiefs can come to a contract agreement with Wallace then it would help the team quite a bit to trade Bowe for Wallace. Even if Bowe is a better overall receiver, Wallace brings something to the team that Bowe can't ... speed.

Wallace,Baldwin,Breaston >>> Bowe,Baldwin,Breaston

Wallace could make the WR corp a more well-rounded group
LOL Okay...

Receiver Dwayne Bowe is holding out from the Kansas City Chiefs. Receiver Mike Wallace is holding out from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Similar issues, easy solution?

I’ve been asked several times in the past couple of days if the Chiefs and Steelers could solve their issues by trading Bowe for Wallace. Adding fuel to that talk is the fact that former Kansas City head coach Todd Haley is now the offensive coordinator in Pittsburgh.

I understand the rationale for the question, but I don’t think the reality is as simple as dealing two unhappy receivers.

I’m not sure the Steelers would make the trade. Wallace, 25, is one of the more explosive young receivers. He probably has more long-term worth than Bowe, 27.

I don’t get the sense the Steelers feel like they are in a tough spot. They can simply give Wallace the franchise tag next year if a new deal isn’t made. I’d doubt they’d be excited to dump Wallace and then have to pay Bowe.

I’m sure the Chiefs, though, would be interested in Wallace. They have cap room and signing Wallace to a long-term deal would be a fit on the field and in the pocket book. Getting the Steelers to agree would likely be the tough part.

Perhaps if both holdouts drag out and the two teams lose patience, things can change. Right now, though, I don’t see these two holdouts swapping teams.

It's been a while since I've gone Medieval on someone's ass, so you're in luck.

You're ****ing stupid. Outright, ****ING STUPID to think that Pittsburgh Steelers are somehow and someway run by superior ownership and a superior front office.

They're ****ing LOTTERY WINNERS, plain and simple.

Oh, back in 1970, the Pittsburgh Steelers, who had sucked for a long ass time, were handed the #1 overall selection and drafted future Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw. After an incredible run in the 70's, Bradshaw retired in 1983 and the team sucked ass for more than a decade.

Bill Cowher took over a team that hadn't drafted a QB in the first round since 1980. The Steelers had done a fine job of drafting offensive and defensive lineman along with linebackers and running backs but it wasn't until Neil O'Donnell that they finally had stability at the QB position. So after the 1995 Super Bowl, their first in 14 years, they let him walk. BRILLIANT.

They replaced him with Piece of Shit journeymen like Kent Graham and Mike Tomczak and later on, Kordell Stewart. Their team was Super Bowl ready each and every year, SAVE for the QB. This great "ownership" and "front office" NEVER ONCE attempted to trade up and select a QB, nor did they make ANY effort to solidify the position.

After failure after failure, the Steelers went 6-10 in 2003. The had the #11 pick overall but instead of packaging picks or picks and players for Eli Manning or Philip Rivers, they sat at #11, where Ben Rothlisberger fell into their ****ing laps. Since then, they've won two Super Bowls and lost another.

So, you ****ing genius, please explain to me how GREAT the Steelers ownership and front office was from 1980 until 2004.

I'll be waiting for your shitty response.
