I will tell you this, if I have an employee threaten to kick another employees ass, they (person doing the threatening) are fired on the spot if gets reported and can be proven by witnesses etc...

Dude reports he was threatened by another employee, then the company does nothing.

Other employee one day actually kicks other employees ass = Company Sued out the Ass for huge $$$.

It doesn't matter if You think its wrong or right, the sue happy society we live in creates some crazy liabilities.

In some states not only could the company be sued in this case but the supervisor who did nothing could be personally sued and held accountable.

I think you way understatement what companies are liable for under harassment free workplace laws.
