How do we get people to stop going to games?

This is the only way things will change. How the **** can we, the fans, tell these Chiefs ball suckers that go to every game no matter that we need to NOT go to games?

It pisses me the **** off so see Arrowhead full whenever the fans need to send a message to Clark.

Just me and the shame of watching them get the shit kicked out of them yet again and relentlessly suck year after year after mother****ing year. When Brett retired, that was pretty much the end.

I'm really starting to not care about the Chiefs in the same way. Doesn't matter if I can watch them or don't feel alone in being a fan anymore. Decades of abuse tell me that the best I can hope for is crushing heartbreak when they come thisclose but fail spectacularly. And normally they just stink. Every level of the organization is shit, and the handful of talented players we have are wasted. I don't see it getting any better.
welllll you did have 3 trips to the World Series and 2 World Championships in seven years to help you feel good about at least one of your sports teams.

Someone should hand out garbage bags at the door. Fans showing up with bags on their heads might do the trick.

I see. What are the new rules since 2009? I thought San Diego was blacked out just a week or two ago at home.

You used to have to sell out. Now, I think it's just a percentage ... like 85% or something.

Even though I grew up rooting for both the Cards and the Royals, as a kid I always liked the Royals better. I was born in Kansas City. The first game I ever saw was at Royals Stadium. George Brett was my hero and is still my all time favorite player. Even though it was painful to pick between them in 85, I rooted for the Royals (that's why it cracks me up when people try to piss me off with Denkinger talk). But at some point they just faded into nothingness. I obviously don't need my team to win all the time, but I do need to feel like they're trying, like the organization is committed to success. And neither Kansas City team cares about that. At this point it's fairly obvious.

Hmmm. I don't know. I just remember reading an article on the subject this off-season. My impression (based on the article) was that this was something new ... the relaxing of the rules, I mean.

The NFL no longer will require that regular-season games that aren't sellouts be blacked out on TV in the home team's local market.

This season, games can be televised locally even when just 85% of tickets are sold. The Wall Street Journal reports that teams will be able to set their own "seat-sales benchmark" – as long as it's at least 85% of total capacity – and when that benchmark is met, games can be televised locally. "To discourage teams from setting easy benchmarks, teams will be forced to share more of the (ticket) revenue when they exceed it," the WSJ reports.

Blacked-out games aren't a huge deal: Just 16 of the NFL's 256 regular-season games were blacked out last season.

But at least theoretically, the looser rules on blackouts could encourage otherwise hesitant teams to expand stadium capacity.

As a legitimate 4th generation Cardinal fan and speaking for Cardinal nation I label thee a bandwagon fan.
