Good stuff, Mr. vailpass.
I always had a powerful fondness for Cream and Badge was a personal favorite ... co-written by Harrison and Clapton and you can really tell ... especially at the bridge. I would have loved to have been around the clubs when guys like Jack Bruce and Clapton and Voorman and Manfred Mann were all hanging out, shuffling from one group to another, and eventually settling in to a single band for a few years. The London club scene must have been fascinating back in those days ... so much talent everywhere you looked. And that Woodstock version is nothing short of awesome, in my opinion. Young's lead on that song cannot be entirely replicated. He was a madman spontaneously exploding on the electric guitar. It's not particularly complicated, but his style and technique are so intertwined that you can barely duplicate that performance. Amazing, really. Thanks, man. I am uplifted and brain rainbowed to the max. FAX |
