He needed a QB. And his GM had his ego so ****ing tied to Matt Cassel, that Pioli would rather fire the coach than to bench the QB that everyone from Bill Parcells to Dick Haley knew was never gonna cut mustard.

It's not a fact. It was a radio thing or something and it was completely disproven.

First of all, we could have never afforded Hasselback. He cost alot of money. Second, Cassel was coming off a 27 TD 7 Int year. No GM was going to put 50% of the cap into the QB position for Cassel and Hasselback. You can look it up if you don't believe me. It was disproven and there was another reason that I can't remember.
