Thank you... Really. But as just one veteran who has the pleasure and is honored to serve veterans every day, I ask for folks to go one step further and get involved if you can. Where ever you are you local VA, VFW or VSO has things we can all do to honor their service even more. We all have our bad days no matter what we do, and they are coming more frequently these days for any number of reasons/opinions. But the returning veterans (the ones that most veterans want to have the focus on) are key. I talk to a many of them, I know many of them, hell I make sure work gets done while many of them are active, and I love the challenge of getting their jobs done while they do their thing (whatever it is). I have everything from supply guys, to medics, to shoots who work for me, and they're all great people.

So this is great, I for one love it, but if nothing else just find these young and old ones and thank them. Listen to them. They're awesome. All of them.

Here's one of my favorites... I think most of you know I coach wrestling, and the best part of this tournament, for me, was my younger son getting to meet Ray Shockley, hold his had during the national anthem, and have him sit mat-side with me as "we" coach my son to a victory (for Ray). Ray is, obviously, a WW-II vet, survived kamikaze attacks and was one of the men we got to witness the surrender too. Watching Ray sit with my son that day and tell my son his story was amazing. And less than two weeks later (sorry, no pic) he also got to meet a Vet without prosthetic legs at JCPenney. Again, awesome for all involved. It was awesome to watch that man's kind wife ask if she could shop while he sat in the chairs in the shoe department and tell my son his story.

Thanks for sharing. The stories of the greatest generation need to be told and remembered forever.
