on a more serious note, I sent this article to my daughter. she's 19 and thinks she's invincible. (no pics....**** off). when you're that age you really do think it only happens to someone else. I had to fight with her to get her to carry mace. it's gonna be a WW3 throwdown when she is old enough to carry!

Just make a copy of National Riflemen's self defense stories every month.


I had my wife read those and she was ready to be armed to the teeth within a few months.


Our CCL instructor told us the story about an 18 year old girl that was in her first year of college. She went home, but a guy was waiting for her. She was repeatedly raped in her bed.

She had a revolver in the headboard, but never used it to defend herself.

Her reason: She had never shot it.

Take your daughter out to the range and spend whatever amount of $$$ on ammo to get her comfortable with the gun of choice.

we live on a deadend road in smallish town. when my bullmastiff Tank died I told my wife, that's it, dogs dead and kids are old enough (I have two)....time for guns. we all went to a 4 hour course on handguns. my daughter was not happy about it but I made her go. after 4 hours of class we went into the range and she didn't want to shoot. instructor told me let her be. I told him back off, she's my daughter, leave the parenting to me. she shot. she shot very very well. I pity the fool! that girl can shoot.
we have a firearm readily available on all 3 levels of our house and a new bullmastiff just in case.
having said that...when she's old enough to carry I don't think I'll be able to convince her to do so. maybe I'll throw some of those defense stories at her.
