Yes, it does! I make mine Danish style, with a sauce made from smashed and strained whole cranberries in a pan with salt, sugar, cider vinegar, and half a stick of butter. I shred the cabbage and cook it until it's tender and takes on a purple color. If you cover the pan, it will turn grayish blue, so don't.
