Usually in any discussion of Bo, you run into someone who starts braying about his stats not seeming all that awesome.
If he had concentrated on one sport he would have been a super-superstar in that sport. And besides that (and I don't know how to explain it exactly) his talent went far, far beyond mere statistics. He did things that were just superhuman. He was the Incredible Hulk, he was Superman, he was the Flash, all rolled into one...hell, he climbed outfield walls like Spiderman. To watch him was to learn how little statistics mean in sports. About the only valid description of Bo Jackson would be "What the hell did I just see?!?!?!" Why in the name of all that is holy did fate in the form of injury take him away from us so quickly? |

Anyone remember him catching a fly ball in the outfield with his bare hand? That one's my favorite.

I remember him beating out Chuck Long for the Heisman.
Chuck Long was the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy to Bo Jackson of Auburn in the second closest race in the award's history, losing by just 45 points. It went to the right guy. |

The Chiefs were only really good one season he played against us: 1990 Looks like he only played 4 games against the Chiefs and never really had a big game: http://www.pro-football-reference.co...Bo00/gamelog//

I LOVED going to the mall just to walk into Foot Locker and see this big poster on the wall.
Bo Jackson was my hero as a kid. My first baseball card, which got me into "collecting" in which I sank a ton of money. ![]() |

There was a great moment in 1990 when Deron Cherry -- I think it was his first game back from an injury -- laid a perfect hit on Bo to cause a fumble. Bo was about to break free for probably a touchdown, but Cherry put his shoulder down right on the ball and popped it out. That probably was the difference in the game, as the Chiefs won.

I remember going to Royals games and flipping Bo shit for picking his nose in the outfield, he would flip us off, lolz. Barry Sanders was my alltime favorite, best of alltime.

Header says Dec. 9th but at the end of the video it says Dec. 8th.
This should be a good one. ESPN does a good job with the 30 for 30 shows. |
