Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

Starting to do my research on AR's, is there a head shoulders better brand than others, like maybe colt? or are they all basically the same since parts are interchangeable?
I found some online equipped the way i want, but i'll never really trust buying something sight unseen, so it's going to have to be a store or show etc. Whats the most you should pay for barebones model - iron sights, tactical stock and thats really all i need to get started. Might want to add a laser pointer at some point, but for now just plain, no whizbang optics or pistol grips. Can you get one like that in stores for about $800 |

Yeah, easy. There are several AR's you can get for <800, DPMS, Bushmaster, etc. Youll want one with a removeable carry handle, so you can add an optic. Wal Mart has the Colt Magpul for $1100 or so, if you want to spend more.

Stag, Rock River are good AR's for a decent price. DPMS makes a decent AR, but the stock triggers are garbage. Colts and Armalite are good, but not enough to justify an extra 2-300 bucks.
