Mooch basically did tell him he would be asked to re-create the play. Listen to him before he drew it up...."part of a quarterbacks job is to memorize verbiage..." Then he draws up the play.

Before he had him go up on the board, he said "I can tell, you're ready to go up on the board, aren't you? Go up there"

He was testing Geno on multiple things..one of them is to see how focused he stays under pressure...hence the drug pop quiz.

Like I said, it wouldn't prevent me from drafting him at one, but to act like its NOTHING that Geno could only remember the first two arts of the 12 part play before having a stoner brain fart is something to keep an eye on for coaches.

If I were involved, I'd want to start him right away and have him start out with a smaller part of the playbook and have him master that as I slowly add more.

I have no doubts Geno can master the shoe playbook and offense, but I can't say I wasn't disappointed...I was expecting this to be a strong point with Geno, and it wasnt.

Why else would he ask them to walk up to the board and watch him diagram one of his favorite plays where he repeats the play name and the play itself multiple times if it wasn't to check their recall?

So how do you explain Matt Barkley then? Are you suggesting he can't handle it either? Because the play Mooch gave him was VERY similar to what he ran at USC and he STILL had trouble with it.

My opinion is that when Barkley first heard it he immediately recognized something very similar to what he ran at USC and instead of actually listening to mooch he was thinking about the USC play. He didn't take note of the differences and when he was asked to flip it, it really confused him.
