What if Clark had given Pioli another year?

What if Clark had given Pioli one more year to get things right?

Crennel would have been fired, but we could have expected some other lackey to be installed as puppet/coach.

We'd have seen Albert and Bowe both walk for nothing, like Carr did.

I think there's a possibility we'd be going back into the season with Cassel again, but in order to save his job and attempt to create the illusion the team was moving forward, I am thinking Pioli might well have drafted Geno Smith.

Would it have been worth it to see the franchise cratered for another year?

Uh, Pioli admitted he would have taken joeakakakakeal on the NFL network (and also said Geno wasn't "top-pick" material)

Thread fail.
Why would we believe anything that lying sack of Pioli says?

He's soberly judging the talent when he's on TV - or so he would have us believe. He's not trying to save his job. He's not trying to sell a ticket or two to a game this year. He's just up there saying what he thinks will make him look smarter.

He would have been in a make or break year, so doing something high risk that gives him an out (rookie QB) after the season would make more sense.

False. Brandon Carr. Pioli would have tagged Bowe, let Albert walk, and have drafted golden boy Luke.

Basically, we'd tag Bowe again, likely lose Albert, start Cassel again and draft Joeckel.

It's not a matter of believing *****. It's a matter of looking at what he's done his entire career. He has NEVER drafted a quarterback in the first round. He makes his living thinking he's some kind of genius who can find a quarterback in the later rounds.

There's no reason for anyone to think he would have drafted Geno Smith. You're on your own on this, and there's nothing to back up up your wild speculation.

Again, what's the point of this thread?

Wow, he let one big name FA go in 4 years? I guess we all forgot that he re-signed Johnson, Charles, Flowers, and Hali to team friendly contracts.

FTR, Carr was not worth the contract he got IMO. Solid corner, not a world beater.

They didn't even TALK to Bowe last year about a contract. They would have tagged Albert and let Bowe walk, and drafted Geno.

There's about 500% more chance that ***** would have drafted Geno than Reid.
Go to hell. He would have never drafted Geno. It's time get behind this team. The new staff has done more good than bad. This team is not old and built to win now, that is the reason for Alex and he may play like he did in 2012 or not, who the hell knows, but we are keeping Bowe and Albert at least. No doubt we will spend some cash on a WR and CB thus putting us back in Div contention. Dustin will no longer be our MVP. After matt is cut we can have a street parade. Things are looking up.

Carr just restructured his contract too. "He is a team player"

Not to mention, there is no way these deals get done today if Pioli didn't do a great job of maintaining top talent for cheap and having this team in a good position with respect to the salary cap.

I get it we all want to beat Pioli up cause this team blew kong dong last year, but there were a few bright spots.

You are right. At least Pioli's boy Stanford lived up to the amount he received.
