By this logic.....we can't draft a QB high next year either because we will have given up a 2nd-3rd round pick in next years draft for Alex Smith.

The Chiefs are not choosing a QB at #1 overall. Period. They're trading their second round pick for a veteran QB. This mindless obsession with choosing a developmental QB at #1 overall isn't just borderline reeruned, it's full blown AIDS reerun territory. |

NFL Live just went off on Geno. The Geno crowd wouldn't be happy.

Geno Smith isn't and wouldn't be a developmental QB, but the rest of your point remains. They aren't choosing a QB at #1 overall. Because they're trading their second round pick for a veteran QB.

There are plenty of people in this thread suggesting the Chiefs draft and sit him for a year.

Merril Hoge compared McShay mocking Geno Smith top 10 to Kiper's hyping of Mike Williams. "Ain't no way the #Cardinals are gonna draft him." |

Merril Hoge was a successful QB in his prime. Take his word as gospel or burn yourself at the stake. What a tool. And honestly I think the Geno thread is the pulse for the media. If you guys despair over Geno they talk him up, if you over him then they'll tear him down. Reverse psychology for Geno! Make a sacrifice!!!
