It's funny how 99.999999% of this forum was all for giving ***** a "pass" for 2009, making all kinds of excuses for his shit moves such as Cassel, Toomer, Goof, Thomas, etc. and so on.

Yet, the new GM that's spent the past 21 years in Green Bay and a man who coached his team to five consecutive NFC Championships and a Super Bowl are already considered morons just a few weeks into their tenure.

It makes no ****ing sense.
Perhaps we're learning.

Unlike the franchise.

Exactly, Pioli is the reason why people are tense about Reid and Dorsey's moves.

This franchise has had two playoff berths since 2004. Since then, they've had 4-12, 2-14, 4-12, 7-9 and 2-14 seasons. The fans finally revolted and the organization responded.

For better or worse, I don't think you can ask that same fan base to endure even more losing seasons in an effort to develop a QB from the weakest draft class in recent memory.

That just wasn't going to fly.

What does developing a QB have to do with anything. Trading for Alex Cassel isn't an effort to play winning football. 20 years of history tells us that.

You're speculating.

Trent Green won plenty of games. Joe Montana led them to the AFC championship. Both were fine QB's.

I don't understand how Matt ****ing Cassel could spook so many people into believing that no one can win unless they're a first round QB that's been drafted by the Chiefs.

That mantra is out of control.

It's draft a QB to win a Super Bowl. That's all there is, anything else is just a lesson in mediocrity

That was not franchise qb's. If Montana was Smith's age then maybe, but if he's smith age, h's not gonna get traded.

Im sorry but Montana and Green were still ****ing failures. 1 play off win doesnt mean shit to me, Tim Tebow has 1 win as a starting qb.

Your in L.A you see how a top notch sports organization is. If the Lakers dont win it all its a ****ing failure. Doesnt matter if they go to the finals and lose, its not good enough. Thats how it has to be, thats how it is for the Patriots, the Steelers and ev3ry other elite franchise.

When Vermeil first signed it was for three years with the understanding it was a quick-turnaround and win-now approach. That's why they went heavy on FA's and experienced players. A lot of fans on CP don't want that 3 year window approach. They want to draft early and develop someone that can help the team contend for years.

Alex Smith and Chase Daniel reeks of the Cassel blueprint. Bring in an average vet and don't have any real competition to mess with him at the #2 spot.

Right now, on paper, next year's QB class doesn't look phenomenal either.

Guys,

I'm waiting until March 12. If this goes through I'm ****ing done caring about this draft and this team. It's supposed to be entertainment, not torture, and it's emotionally ****ing ruinous. I spent the last five ****ing years hoping the Chiefs would be terrible enough to get a high draft pick and take a QB and both times when they were in position they traded for someone else's backup.

I'm ****ing done with the bullshit. Done. I'm rearranging my office this weekend. I'm taking down autographed photos, framed photos, memorabilia, art, clothes, hats. Anything that has to do with the Chiefs is getting expunged from my life, because I'm not going to continue to devote time and emotional energy into a team whose owner detests his fans and continually charges them more and more for the same shit sandwich.

E-****ing-nuff.
