Eh, Welker doesn't scare me.

Either Manning is healthy all season - in which case the Broncos were going to wax us anyway, or he isn't, in which case Welker's just another decent player that Tom Brady made wealthy and we'll be able to overtake Denver.

Welker isn't a difference maker for the Broncos at all, IMO.

Oh wow ... I think he's a total difference matter in the clutch, much better than the safety blanket that Stokley was for Manning. Welker is a legit option and gives them 3 lethal options, not counting Tamme.

A "better Stokely" is a difference maker?

Again, with Manning, the Broncos are already a better team than KC and will kick our ass. What they do in the playoffs beyond that is immaterial to me since I, y'know, don't give a wet fart about the Broncos.

Without Manning, the Chiefs can (and will) beat the Broncos, Welker or no Welker.

From a Chiefs standpoint, Welker just doesn't matter.

Hahaha.

Dude, we have Brandon Flowers and they have Thomas, Decker and now Welker.

Unless we find a way to get 2 more starting quality corners, we aren't gonna beat Denver this year or next.

We can if they have Osweiler under center. Decker wasn't shit before Manning and he won't be much without him. Thomas was developing, but he won't be the monster he was last year without Manning.

With Manning, we were going to get our asses kicked with our without Wes Welker. Without him, the Broncos aren't that worrisome.

Welker is more dangerous, more of a difference maker than any receiver in this league, and the Pats just gave that up on the heels of a Tom Brady restructure so they could keep him.

Now Peyton has the most dangerous slot receiver to ever play the game, in a pass first offense with the most cerebral QB to ever play the game.

If you aren't threatened by that, you're smoking something.

Do you remember what Manning and Stokley did early on? Now Imagine a player 10 times better taking Stokley's role.

I don't think he did. Supposedly they offered him 2 years 10 million, and he walked.

Well, if you put it that way, its less debatable.

It all depends on what happens with the Patriots slot situation, do they sign Amendola or Edelman? If they sign edelman, they are far less ****ed.

Just exactly what the **** are you talking about?

Wes Welker is an overrated possession receiver. He's Davone Bess with an elite QB.

But hey, you're welcome to take him over Megatron, Green, Jones, Marshall....Bowe; whatever. The guy's decent, but he's not a world-beater.

The development of Demaryius Thomas will have a great impact on that offense than plugging in Wes Welker for Brandon Stokely.

Well, he's also the biggest reason Matt Cassel became a Chief.... sure, he won't get you 20 yards per catch, but he's the only WR in recent years to lead the league in YAC, and in the year of Cassel, he beat out the next WR by about 200 yards. Top 10 in the league in receptions, ypg, etc; is a bit better than decent. Developing Thomas simply makes Welker more dangerous in that offense.

No, he's not... if he was such a gamebreaker, the pats offense wouldnt have put up a measly 13 points against baltimore, even without gronk.

He's an excellent slot guy who's quick out of his breaks and has great hands... but without other players helping keep the heat off of him, he's easily accounted for and contained.

He's a great complementary player, but not a true difference maker who can line up anywhere and consistently win that battle.

I think that's why he's a great difference maker. Recently, in NE with the injuries at TE - Welker was 'the man' in the passing game. He's not built to be "the man", he's built to be an amazing "other weapon" and that's exactly what he's set up to be in Denver with Thomas, Decker and Tamme. That is a nice 4-some in the passing game, one of the best going into 2013.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find 3 other teams with a better "4" in their passing attacks.

49-3 Giants beat Montana/Rice in playoffs.

Never pin a loss on one guy unless it's truly egregious. It makes no sense at all.

So you are putting the whole NE performance on Wes Welker? Really? Well, I guess if you can say that than I can say Wes Welker is responsible for NE begin the top offense in the NFL the last 5 years. It was all Wes!!!

The truth is any team can stop Welker whenever they want. Put a CB on him and then do not blitz the Lbers and keep them in the middle and shallow. When Welker comes on his crossing route you knock the dog shit out of him. Now you can do this but if your LBers are playing Welker then there will be a big hole in the medium middle of the field for TE seem routes and Thomas and Decker crossing routes. Any team will be able to stop Welker this year, but it is not a good game plan that is for sure.
