That's irrelevant.

Dumervil was just the example of what quality of player we could get for the 8 million difference between Alex Smith and Matt Moore.

And as I've been saying, a player of that quality isn't coming here in your scenario. Because they have options beyond the 2-win team whose best QB is a total unknown.

The idea that the money could go towards an impact player just seemed to be a selling point of your proposal. Maybe I read it wrong. I'm just saying, it's not going to an impact guy. It'd just go to another Devito and Fasano. If you replace "sign a guy like Dumervil" with "sign another Mike Devito", it loses some luster.

That's all I meant.
