Alex Smith only has 2 years left and hell Dorsey came from GB where they praised BPA and he was there when they drafted Rodgers when they already had Favre. I feel like he will do the same thing here. |

I dont think there would be a grade high enough for Reid Dorsey and Hunt.
Speaking of Clark Hunt he said he would be nore involved. Where is he at. I wonder if he will be at Genos pro day. Even A Smith and Bowe will be watching Geno because there offseason workouts start April 1. If Clark is there you know Geno is the pick without a doubt. |

Are some people incapable of thinking outside the box? What's the biggest glaring weakness of this team? OK... We traded a second and a second/third next year for a POSSIBLE QBOTF. Have the Chiefs inked A. Smith up to a long term contract yet? Nooooo?!?!?! Then that isn't long term commitment. What we currently have is a Plan "A" in Alex Smith. Then Chase Daniels makes a current Plan "B" with a reasonably high back-up price, yet not bad considering the combined salaries of the starter and backup. Now, let's pretend that the Chiefs draft Geno #1 overall and have him going into camp battling Chase for the #2 QB spot. The combined salaries of all three QB's is still less than a premier franchise QB. Scenario #2, Geno gets to camp, lights it up, learns the playbook quickly, and looks equal or better than Alex. Chiefs start Alex while Geno adapts to the speed of the NFL, develops chemistry with the WR's, and learns the playbook inside and out. Next season, if Geno looks to be the #1, the Chiefs trade Alex to another QB starved team and gets partial draft compensation back. Scenario #3, (least likely)... Alex is night and day better than Geno, Chiefs QB position is FINALLY fixed, and we have a quality starter and backup for years to come similar to the Montana / Young scenario in San Fran.

I am curious how much this would indeed effect the draft. I think geno has tools to become great but not yet. the bigger question for me then is in everyone's opinion should the chiefs take smith in round one, or trade back and aquire a second round pick and take someone like ej manuel?
by the way everyone the voting on the chiefs pick in round one has begun. 24hrs remain to get ur vote in at profootballexpress.com im still a rookie to this forum so my apologies for not being able to get the exact link posted as of yet. |

Ohh... Hopefully John Dorsey has been taking notes the last 30 years then. Wouldn't want him to miss a beat.
