I have never strayed from saying I think Alex Smith can win playoff games here.

I also want another guy to develop. Not at 1.1 though.

If he wasn't a Chief, would you think the same?

Considering what he had done the last 28 games or so yes.

We cant search right now but when they benched Smith I stated I thought it was a mistake. That was before I knew he was coming to KC so yea I thought he was good last year.

So we dont trade for Alex draft a LT at 1.1 and pray there is a developmental QB at 2.2?

There were other veteran rejects available that wouldn't have cost that price. But yet, let's just keep doing it, it is going to work one of these times, it has to!

My biggest problem with the whole issue, is that they did it right out of the chute, just like ***** did. Heck, I doubt they even knew where the washroom was yet, neither one of them.

round and around we go, we are going to catch that tail one of these days!

The way they have been doing it isn't working.

They even sat Todd Blackledge on the bench to watch, until the fans got so restless that they put him in.

Now, I am in the minority, for sure.

But I think sitting and "learning" put fear of failure in Stanzi that he didn't have when he played his first exhibition game. The Iowa College fans that I know, said he didn't have that choking fear in Iowa either. So yeah, lets do something different that hasn't proven over and over to fail, throw a kid in there and see if he succeeds prior to ruining him.

That was my issue as well. They decided on him before the ink was even dry on Reid's contract (probably before an actual contract existed to sign).

Exactly keg, and that is what has led me to believe that once these GMs agreed to a deal, Clark dropped the other shoe and told them how things are done in KC.

Bill Kenney it seemed was never bad enough to bench or good to enough to win. Thus Blackledge really never got the best shake. Never really was allowed just to take the whole reigns and go with. Now he didn't turn out to be anything but he did have a winning record when he left KC. Nowhere near as bad as the other busts of the 80s like Joziwak, Ethan Horton, Anthony Hancock, Paul Palmer, Willie Scott.

Unlike some others on here **cough, gblowfish, cough** I was a big Bill Kenney fan. Those were some tough years, and the fans had built up a lot of hope in Blackledge.

You make a good point though, IMO, this fanbase has never had the patience for a rookie QB to OJT, and maybe that is Hunt's reservation. Do you honestly think this fan base would have the patience for any QB short of Luck/Manning talent?

and the difference between going 4-12 with Geno Smith as your QB taking his bumps and bruises being green as grass versus going 8-8 with a 30 year old noodle arm 170 yards per game, game manager... is what exactly?

a losing season is still a losing season and ill take the 22 year old QB with higher upside 10 times out of 10 if i have to sit through a lost cause of half a year

I don't see Alex winning playoff games here because IMO, there's no way KC wins the division with Peyton Manning around and thus forcing KC to play on the road in a WC against any of these teams: Pitt/Balt/Houston/Bengals/Colts.

We get to see how it plays out. Nothing wrong with a difference in opinion.

You hope I am right too.
