Not if he's a first round talent. Technically anyway.

There are successful guys who get drafted outside of the 1st from time to time. A lot of the time though, they were first round talents who dropped for one reason or another. Brees, Russell Wilson etc. Does the fact that they're short or weak armed or both mean they weren't first round talents.

Jonathan Banks is a need based pick for sure and I wanted him @ 33 before the draft anyway. But today Caldwell held a press conference about Joker and he said, paraphrasing, that his skill set will help out MJD, Lewis, Blackmon, and Shorts and "whoever we have at Quarterback." He essentially named all our offensive weapons and neglected to say Gabbert or "our QB." He said "whoever we have at QB." And that makes me think Banks isn't a sure thing at 2.33. So there's hope for Geno yet.
