I met Lumpy in March of 1994. Not long after the Chiefs lost to Buffalo in the AFC championship.
We were set up on a blind date. We went with another couple to Town East Mall in Wichita KS. I was 17 and she was 15. I was driving my first car, a gold 1980 Monte Carlo with only 40,000 miles.

We were eating at the food court when one of her friends came up and started talking to her. This chick noticed Lumpy was on a date, looked over at me and started flirting. Lumpy was about to kick her ass but technically, couldn't. I mean shit, we'd just met.
Flash forward about an hour and she and I are alone, sitting on some bleachers at the Andover, KS community park. It was chilly and I put my Apex One chiefs jacket on her. We were talking for a long time. I was a little mysterious to her because I was a kid that had lived in several different states and I was a little different than the idiots she grew up around.
Well, we were standing next to my car and I had to leave to catch my 11pm curfew. I was going to give her a small kiss on the cheek or a hug, (always the well-mannered gentleman) when she stepped up to me, put her arms around me and slipped me the tongue.
We have been together ever since that happened.
For some reason, later that night I just had a feeling about her.
19 years now.

No word from the doc yet. This surgery was supposed to take about an hour. It's been about 40 minutes.

Nice story. Glad shes feeling better.
