the argument was "Alex Smith can run Chris Ault's pistol" like he has the speed or arm to do it. He has neither. Face the facts and stop blowing your game manager 30 year old QB

It is completely incomprehensible that the Chiefs would take a very mobile QB and incorporate a pistol package for him. Got it.

I believe the guy was hired for many aspects, including how to stop the pistol, but to think they hired him to NOT take advantage of a very mobile QB is ridiculous. You do understand you can run it a few plays/game, right?

now that I will agree with, but full 60 minute pistol offense seems crazy

He can.

He was 21-1 in college in Urban Meyer's spread pistol-ish system, an All-American and first pick in the NFL Draft.

He runs a 4.71 40 at 6'4", 225 lbs. and had a better 3 Cone Drill and 20 Yard Shuttle times than Cam Newton.

He'll run a Pistol Offense just fine.

I wish people would stop being such negativists with regard to Alex Smith. I wanted Geno for the Chiefs more than just about anybody in the country, but I'm not going to be a bitter pessimist and dump all over A. Smith because we didn't draft him. Smith has some pretty good tools and was completely screwed over by some really, really bad coaching for the majority of his NFL career to this point. When he finally got the opportunity to play for a decent coach, he played pretty darn well.

He'll be just fine here in Kansas City where he meshes exceptionally well with the coaching staff and rest of the personnel.

If not, then we get to move on when/if that happens, but I'm not going to take a shit on a guy who was the best option available to get this team on the right track right out of the gate.

Quit being a bunch of pussies for Christ's sake.

To be quite honest, I am pretty damn excited to see this team play.

Pistol

No doubt Ault will help the team to prepare for the Pistol. As far as implementing it on offense, I would expect to see Chase Daniel run some during the preseason. I'm not sure how much Smith will run it.
