cool he can out run an awful Saints defense

hes still not fast/cant run the pistol, i dont care what any of you Alex Smith ballwashers say. Hes an athletic QB but call me when the noodle arm injury prone turd can run a 4.4 or 4.5 and actually be a threat in the pistol, then we will talk.

the argument was "Alex Smith can run Chris Ault's pistol" like he has the speed or arm to do it. He has neither. Face the facts and stop blowing your game manager 30 year old QB

It is definitely a sign that Reid is not only changing the team, but himself as well. In previous years, Reid was flat out Napoleon about his offense. No one could tell him anything. He did it his way and didnt care what anyone says. Seems like he is evolving with the times. Seems like a good sign.

I believe the guy was hired for many aspects, including how to stop the pistol, but to think they hired him to NOT take advantage of a very mobile QB is ridiculous. You do understand you can run it a few plays/game, right?

You do realize that that video of Smith running on the Saints wasn't from last year right? It was from the year prior when the Saints were 13-3 and ranked 12.

If that's awful, I'll take awful.

The pistol really isnt much more than the spread, actually the main focus is taking a snap 2 yards closer than the shotgun. Its a faster pace and less reaction time for the defense. Of course the Qb runs a bit more, but even harbough only runs concept of the read option. Alex does have the arm to run it, is he as athletic as Kaper and RG111. No but he was recruited by Meyer as a running QB. He never threw the ball in Highschool. I saw most of his games. Meyer said he knew he had the smarts to teach him to throw (yes add your jokes) but its true. He was a running Qb.

I feel like if RuthlessRaper and his walking boot can run this offsense, A. Smith will excel. It could be an interested blend of WCO and Pistol. I think overall it's going to be a completely different offense to watch and I"m so excited.
