So the net increase in tax under the new system is .95%? If you pass the 8.25% on to customers you would be increasing the overall cost to them which would be in excess of the tax increase from the change in systems.

I know myself, I just care about the bottom line. I don't care if you want to charge me $1.85 for the drink then add $.15 in taxes to get to $2.00 or if you just tell me my total is $2.00 and you worry about the taxes involved. After all, you will still be including the 6% for TABC in the $1.85 without accounting for it in your presentation of the total to me. The drink really costs $1.75 but the $.10 going to TABC is included when you put $1.85 on the receipt. |
