Half that disrespect would probably piss in their pants if they actually knew the other person on the otherside of the forum. but damn, with some its not even anger or frustration with the team. many ive been reading are just straight insulting, and nothing about the team whatsoever.

its about TC now (2013), and we goin back to days of Deberg.

Def. gonna like posting in here.

As some said tho, Smith is just a piece of the puzzle.

We had what 6 pro-bowlers that should be even better this year. picked up another great CB.

on O we have Smith, Bowe, Charles, maybe one or two TE's that maybe can really make some noise, and hopefully a few Wr's that can step up.

Def look forward to seeing what we can do this season, and if we've made a step in the right direction. only time will tell.

...but being how crazy some are in here, if we have a losing record in pre-season, we are doomed for the regular season...

I was pimping Geno hard before the draft, but when I finally accepted the terrible fate a few days after the Alex Smith trade happened, I strongly advocated for Tavon Austin or another big time playmaker as the alternate. My order of preferences was (if we weren't going to take a QB):

1. Trade down at any cost. The #1 overall pick is worthless, so take the best offer with the extra picks and move on.

2. Sheldon Richardson

3. Tavon Austin or another WR with skills that we currently lack

4. Dion Jordan, Dee Milliner, or another defensive player from the top 15 who fills a hole for us

5. Fisher + Albert trade

6. Just Fisher

7. Joeckel

Yes and several wanted to draft him on here. But the Chiefs felt Brady Quit could do the job-lol

There were four guys that should have been considered at 1.1, IMO.

Fisher, Austin, Mingo and Richardson.

There were a few people (myself included) that suggested Austin. I really liked Mingo as a person and his production, size and speed could have easily justified him as 1.1.

IIRC, Sorter was a big fan of Richardson and IMO, the Jets d-line will be among the best in the league with his addition.

Milliner, IMO, should never have been in the discussion at 1.1, nor should have Warmack, Cooper or Smith.

FWIW, Halfcan's a good dude. There's no reason to insult him because he doesn't know the diff between Austin and McCluster.
This is ChiefsPlanet. If you "don't know about guys like Austin" then don't put your foot in your mouth.

No difference than belittling SDH about Brown.

I will say this with S. Smith. maybe we can agree that the 49ers have a pretty good defense, so when i heard that the Eagles, Chiefs, 49ers, and Bucs were going after him. I'd say the main team, the 49ers wanted him and didnt get him.

so stats aside, pretty telling if an almost winning SB team wanted to pick him up.

I actually agree with this post though I don't think the original plan was to keep Albert. The market was softer than they expected I think. I wanted to go defense once it was obvious there wasn't a QB worth taking near 1.1 and it wasn't going to happen.

That being said I'm lol'ing at the people suggesting Fisher is going to struggle.

He was widely considered to be cream of the crop in this draft. Not by Chiefs fans (insert gif) but by draft experts.

Yea he could end up being a bust, every single player has that potential, but its very highly unlikely.

The Fisher hatred is just butt hurt.

Take your pick.

2011 - worst CB in football
2012 - allowed more first downs than anyone

Sounds like a guy who can really play CB at a high level.

I would have rather taken Sheldon Richardson, but there wasn't any "playmakers" polished enough to be worth the pick. There will inevitably be some come from this draft but none were "worth" the first pick

Kaepernick was drafted before Brady Quinn was a member of the Chiefs.

Okay so by your own list your #1 option was to trade out that nobody was worth- that includes tavon. Then you have Richardson ahead of him as well. But yet you are critisizing me that I didn't think it would have been smart to take him #1? I guess I am confused by your logic.

Yes he might end up being the stud of the draft adn if the Chiefs took him- could have been awesome-but they didn't.

Time to let it go-Fish is the Pick and has been for a LONG time now. lol
