Found this for Salary cap implications:

The 49ers dump Jenkins after just one season -- a rare development for a first-round draft pick. The team gets rid of his guaranteed salaries the next two seasons of $705,797 this season and $1.021 million next season.

Baldwin's salary of $1.061 million for this season is fully guaranteed. However, Baldwin's scheduled 2014 salary of $1.274 will be paid only if he's on the team.

Each get a fresh start in a new city and see if they can rebound. I doubt it on both.

Yes, but Aj Jenkins is 200 lbs with all of his pads on, and ankle weights, and a weight Jacket.

Baldwin is PHYSICALLY IMPOSING.

By my count he's had three big plays, the san diego thirty yard td, the grab on fourth down and one where he kinda caught it behind his back.

I see where you're going by phrasing it that way and i couldn't care less... give me raw speed over slow ass jump ballers.

Are you counting the one he caught behind the Bronco's back where he caught both the pass and a safety?

I know it got called back, but it was clearly the highlight of his career. That was one of the best catches I've ever seen by a Chief.

Alex Smith is risk adverse

He is not going to like trusting a receiver to win a jump ball. He wants to see separation.

I dont pity him that his progression was stunted by his stupidity and boo hoo none of his peers like his attitude. Well no shit
Slow down now, I'm not absolving Baldwin of all blame. Hell, I'm not absolving him of much blame.

He needed to get over it. He needed to put on his big boy pants and realize that this is the NFL and you need to suck it up and perform. Like I said, a more mature player doesn't let this bury him.

At the same time, WTF is Thomas Jones doing fighting a teammate? A rookie no less? There were a number of different theories regarding the cause and yes, one of them was that he was upset that Baldwin didn't block well for Charles. But that wasn't the biggest problem. The problem was that he took it to Baldwin and barked at him like a little kid. Baldwin didn't cow-tow to the vet and so Jones took a shot at him. Seriously - WTF? You think that's the way a veteran should operate in a locker room?

Jones could have taken that a positive direction. He didn't because frankly, Jones is a thug. He fought teammates in Chicago and again in NYJ. Jones is a bad guy to have in your locker room and perhaps had we had a good leader there, he could've actually helped develop the kid.

It's the old 'eggshell plaintiff' rule - you take your foils as you find them. The fact that Baldwin was immature is something that Jones knew and it doesn't excuse him from being an asshole. Good leaders find different ways to work with different people. Jones was a miserably bad leader. As was just about everyone involved in this coaching staff. Baldwin couldn't handle it.

But like I said - his issues getting in and out of his break had nothing to do with that so he was still going to be a poor fit in this system. I just wonder if perhaps he could've built more trade value over the last couple of years had he actually had a solid base and 2 full seasons under his belt. I think he could have.

This shouldn't be a surprise at all. Two teams with huge busts that they were going to cut anyway just plalyed each other in preseason. Basically, the GMs got together and said "hey, lets trade pieces of shit draft picks so that we can at least save some face". Both know the guys they are getting will be lucky to make their respective rosters, but they were cutting them anyhow. Just another shitty Pioli pick down the drain. Nothing to see here.

Jenkins doesn't use his speed. He just gets jammed at the line of scimmage. If he gets bumped anywhere in the route it won't happen. He will drop passes thrown his way anyway. If by some miracle he does catch it he will fumble upon the first hit.

He's really that bad. Trust me.
