Geno Smith vs Alex Smith - It's on.

It's on now. Geno Smith is probably going to be starting for the Jets this season.

Alex Smith will be the Chiefs QB for the forseeable future. If he's a success, we'll probably get five good years out of him.

So who's gonna win more NFL games over that time period?

Put your ten pounders on the table and make a vote

Alex: 11 wins
Geno: 8 wins

Because Brady's defense couldn't get Eli off the field.

It is clear to anyone that watched that game that if Alex Smith had done anything at all, the 9ers win that game. He had plenty of chances. I fully admit that Smith did more against the Saints than I thought he ever could. They were a terrible defense but that was still clutch. That game against the Giants however was more around what I think of when I think of Smith.

It is clear to anyone but an Alexsexual that Alex underperformed in the NFCC game. Several 49ers players made mistakes or blew plays, but Alex is clearly among them.

I have always hated Eli for being a baby and refusing to go to the Chargers, like I hated Elway for the same thing.

Eli took a hellacious beating, yet came up clutch at least twice in the 2011 NFCC game. I have nothing but respect for him now.

Here are some pictures of the human lawn dart during that game ===>

This thread is hilarious.

Geno cant beat out out butt fumble and Clay is flipping his script now to "hope".

Alex Smith gets zero credit for the games he has won, the FG kicker moved the ball and Gore's 1200 yards and 8 TD's were more important than Smith's contributions.(1200 yards is an amazing total for a RB over 16 games)

Brady lost to the Giants because he didn't have a rushing attack, Alex smith sucks because he has to have a rushing attack.

Do you guys even read the stuff you post?

Eli Manning had 58 pass attempts that game.

12 QB hits and 6 Sacks. That's only a little high based on his attempts. The footing had to suck for a pass rush in that weather and the refs appeared to help too with 1 holding call and it was a run.

And of course a game like this is Alex Smith's fault when he attempted only 24 passes.
The Ravens tied a franchise record with 9 sacks against the 49ers Thursday night. Five of the Ravens' sacks came when they sent 5 or more pass rushers. Eight of the Ravens' 9 sacks also came with 5 or more defensive backs on the field.
Also 12 QB hits by the Ravens.

Eli's 316 Yards in that game? WOW

His YPA was the same as 2011 Blaine Gabbert.

His yards per completion was just ahead of 2011 Christian Ponder.

Eli Manning didn't miss any chances to make plays with his 26 incompletions? He was lucky 1 or 2 weren't INTs.

And the Giants punter didn't have 12 punts.

The conditions for offense was bad. The weather was bad and the defenses were on their A games.

Both QBs did the bare minimum.

The Giants were 22% likely to win as they were punting in the 4th, It glances off a leg. They recover and are 46% likely to win.
2nd fumble spikes from 52% to 95%.

Of the four plays that increased New York’s win probability the most, Manning was a part of zero. Of the eight plays that decreased New York’s win probability the most, Manning was a part of six.

Please.

Tracking our game manager retread vs the potential franchise QB we had a chance to pick is a very worthwhile endeavor.

Absolutely.

The point of the thread is to find out how warranted our collective butthurt will be.

EVERYBODY had a chance to pick him, and EVERYBODY passed in the first round.

It would have been stupid to take him at 1.1. But you would have done it.

this is a tired argument.

Teams are right quite often. But they are wrong pretty often too.

the story hasn't been written yet.

32 teams out of 32 disagree with you and Clay.

Hell, they haven't even decided to name him the starter yet on a team with Mark Sanchez as the only competition.

I don't care.

I formed an opinion on this talented young man long before the draft.

Post-RGIII/Luck draft climate doesn't affect me, only scared NFL teams.
