Ok guys, had a conversation with my wife this morning that got my blood boiling. I think I need some blood pressure meds right now. Anyhow, so last Friday night, my 9 yo daughter was invited to a sleep over with some friends from her dance studio. They are all about the same age. The mother hosting the event is fairly involved in the dance studio functions. During the sleepover, the mover had a couple of girl friends over and they had some drinks and did jello shots. I know this because the dumbass posted it on facebook. Here's the bad part. They offered a jello shot to the girls. My daughter says MOST of them, including her didn't want one, but I'm just finding out about this incident this morning, and I'm ****ing livid. I went on her facebook, but decided I didn't want to piss my wife off and make my life hell, so I didn't try to "friend" her or message her in any way. My wife insists that she is going to talk to the dance studio about it, but is asking for me to not get involved. This is the type of behavior that turns little girls into pole dancing sluts. tooge, I'm sure you're a good cat & fine dentist, but your parenting skills & adult comm skills need some refining. I'm a father of two girls, both adults now. I think you are trying too hard on many fronts. relax. actually, you should commend your kid for her POV and the way she handled it -- this is first, then move on to the adults. it's not that big a deal to me, provided the adults realize how you and yours roll and can respect that. it's important you talk with folks and sort of find fams that get on the same page with you and your fam. jmo

Um, thanks, I guess. I will commend my daughter first and foremost, as a stated. She wasn't awake yet this morning when I heard about all of this. Then, I will move on to the mother, as I stated. It is a big deal to me, guess we just differ on whether 9 year old girls should be around and given jello shots. And we do seek out and have lots of families with our same values that we hang with. This one was one I've not met, but my wife has, and my daughter is friends with theirs, well, not anymore.

reminds me of the time I was probably the same age, and I wanted to hang out with my dad and his buddies who were drinking Coors (with the Tin Can pull off thing). I kept bugging his buddy for a beer (didn't know any better). My dad finally said, "here you go". Took one sip and was like "F That".

keep a can of "Cammo" handy and if she ever wants a drink, let her sip on that gasoline
