complete nonsense

no one in next year's class has more talent than this year's udfa?

you don't go un-drafted just because you're immature...absolute reeruned shitheads get drafted all the time, mostly notably at the WR and CB positions

no one would even burn a 7th to ensure they got him, why?

because he has a big arm and almost no discernible NFL talent that could be found on tape from mechanics (throws like a sidearm pitcher) to accuracy to decision making...plus he was a world class douche, and that's why you end up a udfa

i'm stoked we grabbed him, i'm glad he dominated 3rd stringers in the 4th preseason game (seriously, that's a good sign, you should look good among lessers), and I hope he doesn't play a snap this year

but I woke up to read in this thread that 'his upside is marino' and 'no one in next year's class has more talent' and realized we're going to have people claiming we don't need to draft a QB next year because of Bray the UDFA...and that is scary

Bray has tools to work with that few other QBs do. If he busts, he busts. In no way shape or form would I trade him right now and in no way shape or form would I not take a serious look at QBs at the top of the 2014 draft for the simple reason that Alex Smith and Chase Daniel are the top 2 QBs on the roster and the latter shouldn't be on this team for more than a year.

Seems like people are so desperate to have that young, developing stud QB that they are hoisting Bray up much higher than what he has shown. He has potential with that arm, no doubt... but folks are getting way too ahead of themselves. He had some good moments and some bad ones.

Should you take a 3rd for him if it were offered? I can see some fair points for either side you lean on.

When are people going to realize that booger daniels isn't a vet backup just because he threw a few regular season passes?

Oh, and the fact that he sucks out loud.

Same thing as Geno... every single team passed on him in the 1st round. There are a lot of terrible front office people, but I don't think it's 100%. It's obvious there were red flags that scared teams away from almost all these QBs. I'm not sure this is even a debatable point. It's what happened.

In Bray's case... he obviously had some headcase issues and didn't always work hard... he admitted as much to Gruden. More importantly, he was terribly, terribly inconsistent in college. One day he could look like a 1st round pick, another day he could look worse than Tyler Palko. He didn't show any improvement through college. His 2nd to last game against Vanderbilt, he got benched because he was absolutely horrible. Finished 11-29 for about 100 yards. That's terrible. He also threw for 350+ and lit up South Carolina's defense a few weeks before. He's not exactly a typical prospect... he's basically a huge raw arm. I do think he is working with the best coaching staff he's ever worked with... but I don't think he should see the field this year.
Yep, meanwhile I'm going to enjoy this warm sensation caused by the knowledge the Chiefs finally have a legit QB talent in the pipeline. Last time I saw a young backup with this kind of arm developing for the Chiefs was in 1980 with Bill Kenney under Marv Levy.

We can't risk shaking Alex's already broken confidence. There isn't much more that Bray can do on this roster. He defeated America. He threw 3 TDs in his first real opportunity to get in a rhythm on the field. Time to trade him before Alex and Chase begin to look over their shoulder and their play on the field suffers.
