But hes not. Hes an average qb with a more than cap friendly contract that lets the team that has him get rid of him at any point after this season for almost nothing. hes a stop gap.

A quality stop gap that while not making turnovers, will also groom the next qb. He is a coach on the field who will be a far better coach going forward than he ever will be as a player.

it was a brilliant move by Dorsey.

Yeah, 2.2 and a probable 2nd next year, to have success now, while grooming the qbotf and the ability to lock up players like Bowe, and possibly Albert going forward seems pretty fair to me.

At least they didn't give him a huge extension right away.

Bullshit its realistic. Franchise quarterbacks are gold. If Alex Smith was worth a shit he would have gotten a first for him. Trouble was nobody but our dumbasses wanted him.

And SF had to many draft picks is a farce as well, since they traded our pick to get more picks.

you are saying that Dorsey traded away 2 second picks for a "stop gap" QB. But supposedly this team is in a "win now" mode. So, in essence, you are saying Dorsey and Reid do not agree on where this team is headed.

I believe that until he is signed to an extension yes. That is the case. If they were committing to him, then he would of been signed.

Btw, you overly wide sig is ****ing up the page....

the page works fine for me... are you posting from a hand held device or something?

Either way, you are saying kc doesn't really believe in Smith. This of course completely contradicts what Reid says about Alex Smith.

First, I am sure that today Andy Reid believes in Alex Smith. In the very same way that Jim Harbaugh believed in Alex Smith. And I believe he will continue to believe in Alex Smith, until someone else, for instance Tyler Bray emerges and takes the governor off the offense.

Its cool that you seem to have a very high thought of Alex Smith. I do too, just I understand his limitations.

No, im on my computer.

Ok, so I shortened the gifs in my signature, hope that helps.

I'm not sure what to think of Smith pairing up with Reid. I just don't see how this matchup works out. As for Bray, I am high on this kid in that I think he's got lots of upside so kudos to kc for snatching him up. Could be the steal of the decade.

It did, thank you.

That's where I think many of the Chiefs fans are at. That's where I am at as well.

I saw Alex Smith as a guy to stabilize the qb position while Andy and Dorsey sorted out the rest of the roster because there wasn't a franchise qb to take at 1.1

You don't give your team, or the player a false sense that he isn't the long term future and not at least extend his contract for a couple years like say the Lions did with Stafford this offseason.

That is what gives me pause. Also, cutting Stanzi before the 4th preseason game, and giving all of those reps to Bray was another.

They are committed to the development of Bray. They are not committed to Alex Smith other than this year. He is essentially on two, one year contracts.

That's why I don't stick my neck out there and go full bora bora reerun, "HEZ DA FUTUREZ!!!"

Bray has a hell of a support system around him and all the talent in the world.

The replay if the Chiefs/GB game is on ABC right now.

Generally what point in the game should I have my lotion out and Kleenexs at the ready when Bray works his magic?
