Post Superbowl Mock

This is my first attempt at a mock this year.

Chiefs Picks

1. Eric Berry, Safety, Tennessee - Best player in the draft falls to us at 5.

2a. Terrance "Mount" Cody, NT, Alabama - 370 lbs will be in 350 range at combine. Slides to 2nd round. Just what the Chiefs need is a NT that eats blockers.

2b. Daryl Washington, ILB, TCU - Chiefs upgrade the speed at linebacker.

3. Lagarrette Blount, RB, Oregon - Teams with Charles for a good 1 2 punch.

4. Dan LeFevour, QB, Central Michigan, A big, strong QB with a good, not great arm and more touch than Cassel will carry clipboard for a year then challenge for starter.

5a. Eric Olson, Center, ND, should start season at center

5b. Denario Alexander, WR, MU. Many have Barnes out of Bowling Green here lately, but I saw a lot more of Alexander play a lot more. He needs to work on routes, but he's reliable and is a big target.

5c. O'Brian Schofield, OLB Wisconsin - Schofield probably would've gone higher had he not been injured Senior bowl week. Schofield when healthy takes Vrabel's spot.

LOL, dude, Brandon Lafell will not fall that far, and he's a Bowe clone...

Damaryius Thomas is at WORST a late 2nd round pick, if you're going to do mocks be realistic about where the picks are.

You should switch Thomas and Lafell, and ****ing kill yourself for pimping both Shipley and Gerhart.

This dude is just an ESPN drone. There's not a single pick in that mock that's not from a BCS conference. It screams, "the media told me to like these guys, therefore they'll be good players".

Now that gives us 2 defensive players that fill HUGE needs for us.
Now comes time to help out the offense.

2b. Brandon LaFell-WR-LSU- Big and fast. Could easily challenge Bowe for the #1 spot in 2 or 3 years.

3. Jordan Shipley-WR-Texas- If he is compared to Wes Welker then he is good enough for me as a 3rd round pick. Plus he has KR/PR ability. That would give us 3 young receivers with great potential.

4. Eric Olsen-C-Notre Dame- Yes he played at Notre Dame who finished 6-6 but thats why he could be a good fit. Charlie Weis knows him and what he can do.

Now thats 5 players that will start or could possibly start\battle for a starting spot before the pre-season or in the pre-season.

5a. Toby Gerhart-Stanford-RB\Montario Hardesty-Tennessee-RB- Gerhart is the bruiser that could give Charles a breather and block on 3rd and long but Montario who is slightly lighter in weight could also give Charles a breather but be a 3rd down receiver at RB. Pick your poison.

5b. Demaryius Thomas-WR-Georgia Tech- Big guy who will be a project. Great blocker coming out of GT. Also a big receiver in the red zone.

5c. Sean Canfield-QB-Oregon State- Scott Pioli grabs another late round QB to develop under Weis.

Everyone thinks the defense was our biggest disappointment last season and that is completely wrong. If our offense could have stayed on the field for more than 5 minutes at a time our defense wouldn’t have looked so bad. Yes our defense wasn’t very good but with the addition of Berry and Thomas our defense is 5 or 6 spots better in the NFL power rankings.
Berry and Thomas are fine. So is Olson. LaFell is Meh, and Shipley, another player I think is WAY overated. This is not a great year to take WRs yet you have us taking three. That would not happen in a banner WR class.

I also think Gerhart is a waste of a pick. Maybe if we had a 7th round pick and no one else selected him, but I think 5th is way too high. We may indeeed take a flyer on a QB. I believe Pioli will draft one wvery 2-3 years.

Thank you for not having us draft OT in the first.

Thomas is not any where close to a second round pick. He played at Georgia Tech and im not sure if you know this or not but they ran the ball 95% or the time. He is projected in every mock draft around 5th or 6th round. Right where we should draft him. We take 2 or 3 WRs in this draft because we dont have any. Bowe cant catch a cold and everyone is either too old or has Bowe syndrome.

I wanna see Mecca and Hamas make a mock draft since they both know so much about the players in this draft.

Completely irrelevant. He said that power runners with a straight up running style who had success in college were going to get pounded in the NFL. Eric Dickerson, one of the greatest running backs in the history of the league, was exactly that type of guy. There was no caveats about generational gaps or the style of play in the league now versus then.

And one could argue that with the offensive focus on the passing game, especially since 2004, that the field has been opened up more now versus Dickerson's time.

The only upright runner is Chris Brown and he's had a shaky career at best. Guys do not run that way anymore in the NFL.

We're not taking three receivers in this or any other draft. We have way too many holes to fill to spend three picks on one area. And yes I know you have multiple formations and receiver sets, but no. I'm all for playmakers, we have none, but we need playmakers everywhere. We've gotta improve the speed of our defense to slow down the rest of the league too. We've got to find and get some production out of players who are not draft picks.

It is relevant you dumbass. Players don't do it anymore because it doesn't work anymore.

not all that fond of the gerhart pick but i could see the other stuff happening. I also wouldn't be suprised to see us take several WR's.

Shipley could do some returns for us as well.

i'm trying to be nice, but you're wrong

i'd be shocked if he drops out of the second...i doubt you've actually seen him play

and scott wright's latest draft at draft countdown has him going #41 to the Bills
