Bills/ Bengals [cancelled - process in OP]

In case anyone needs it spelled out, we would play at a neutral site if the AFCCG ends up being Chiefs vs. Bills. All other scenarios abide by the usual rules (so any other game the Chiefs play will be at home).

If the NFL execs were truly concerned about mental health, they would hurry up and do what the crazy stupid mother****ers in this thread recommend.

No telling what might happen if those poor souls have to face the trauma of the schedule being altered or the Chiefs kicking playoff ass wearing white jerseys in another zip code.

Don't you remember when Sean Taylor was murdered and the NFL canceled the season, made the Redskins eternal champions, and dissolved itself as an entity?

Shit the Bengals players were practically putting on their football gear leaving Chris Henry’s funeral when the NFL made them play a game 48 hours later.

If anything this incident should be looked at as a triumph of NFL player safety. If he's anywhere other than on the field of an NFL game he may well have died on site. The fact that an ambulance & multiple teams of doctors were on location probably saved any chance of life he has.

That was one of the things I didn't like about a lot of the discussion om ESPN following the incident. They were discussing it like it was a concussion or CTE or something that was related to playing football. It's just as likely that he would have had the same injury doing anything physically exerting whether it was playing an NFL game, jogging or carrying a bunch of heavy boxes around the house

It is a possibility and I wouldn't be opposed to it. We could still end up with the #1 seed and have another week off. So basically if we get the #1 seed we would get 2 weeks off out of 3

Would the Super Bowl push a week? Or would the NFC get a bye and not the AFC team?

If it pushed, then wouldn’t the NFC team get two weeks off before the Super Bowl?

Edit: never mind. I just re read that. They would alternate bye weeks to start the playoffs.

True, I would think if they play that game it has to resume where it left off, correct?

Should just call the Bills-Bengals game canceled. No way they push everything back a week or play both afc/nfc championships and Super Bowl back to back weeks. Would is suck for Bengals and Bills? Yes. Should every other team be forced to bend over backwards because of a freak accident? The answer is no, they should not. Life isn’t fair.

I would think so.

I also would think that the teams would be limited to the rosters that they had when the game was suspended, right? Injuries are part of the game, so I don’t see why the Bills would get to activate another DB in Hamlin’s place.

In fact more that I think about it they should do that if they aren't going to cancel. It is fair to everyone.

Right, sorry. I read that wrong. For Sean Taylor they did some helmet stickers and a moment of silence, and the Redskins played a couple days later.

Uhh, no. You have to be hit in just the right spot at just the right moment for this to occur. See: Commotio Cordis
