Donaldson>Moustakas

And it's not even close.

Last night I was watching Hockey Night In Canada with Don Cherry and Ron Maclean; Don Cherry expressed a valid point in that there is an injustice going on with respect to selecting all-stars.

He pointed out that Moustakas is in the lead because it's the people in Kansas City that are giving him a gazillion votes, meanwhile, Donaldson is top 10 in the majors in RBIs, HRs, doubles, runs scored and in slugging percentage.

Fielding wise, Moustakas couldn't hold Donaldsons jock. Now is this deserving that Moustakas deserves to be ahead of Donaldson in voting when Donaldson outclasses him defensively and in a helluva lot of statistical categories.

Guys, you know this system is ****ing bullsh*t okay? Donaldson is the better player and deserves to be in there over Moustakas. You guys are voting him in there because he is your boy. This voting system on choosing all-stars is a reflection of extreme biases and favoritism. The people of Kansas City blew that out of proportion. It's just so unfair.

*Go ahead and flame away. I'm confident my point stands strong

I'm not sure how I feel about the All-Star game being primarily Royals starters. Normally, I'd be thrilled, but this offense just isn't good right now. I just hope they don't get no-hit or something.

But how would it affect the power rankings if the all Royals team beat the NL ?

MLB is actually probably loving seeing all the Royals in the lead for a couple of reasons.

A) All Star Game voting is getting huge PR right now, media bitching left and right in all of the MLB cities and nationwide
B) Other fan bases will soon start voting like crazy = more interest in the event
C) Small market thriving = good for sport in general
D) Royals do have some marketable players: Hosmer, Cain, and Perez would be major superstars in a large market. Especially with advertisers in the case of Hosmer and Cain.

Right. And a much higher OPS. If all players don't really get SBs, OPS is really the only thing that should matter to gauge an offensive player.

Arguing about Bautista vs. Morales is irrelevant, since Bautista is on the ballot as an OF. He isn't listed as a DH.

Alex Rodriguez IS listed as a DH, so he can be discussed. The three guys who deserve the most talk for the ASG at that spot are A-Rod, Morales and Cruz.

I have no problem saying Cruz deserves the nod in the starting spot.

But A-Rod? Much more of a borderline thing with Morales. Yeah, he has 5 more HR. But some of that is due to the ballpark factor - he has three Yankee stadium home runs.

Take those away, and his OPS drops right back into the same arena as Morales. So I've got no problem with considering the two in the same realm of consideration as All-Stars.

Rodriguez's ISO is almost 60 points higher than Morales. That's not just a function of Yankee Stadium.

He also draws 70% more walks than Morales and his wRC is 20% higher. There isn't a single advanced metric that supports Morales' candidacy.

Fielder has also hit significantly better than Morales as well. So take Bautista out of it. His numbers still don't stack up to Cruz, Fielder, or Rodriguez.

So now everyone is aware just how much 'better' Bautista and ARoid are than Morales.

Fielder listed as 1B on All-Star ballot, so irrelevant.

And most of America hates ARoid (outside of NY), so there's a reason he's not getting a lot of votes. Nobody wants to see him in an All-Star game. As much as people want to see Cruz over Morales, I'm sure most would rather see Morales there over ARoid and the voting seems to reflect that. Unlike Cruz, ARoids not even close on votes.

Too bad for him.

You seem awful upset and committed to this anti-Royals argument.

Are you just mad there aren't 7 Cardinals leading the voting at their positions?

Perhaps you should go to MLB.com and vote more?

Fielder has also appeared at 1B 10 times this year and there's this thing called a write-in, so no, it's not irrelevant.

I'm glad you idiots are doing it because it increases the chance that the NL will have HFA in the WS.

I don't need to be mad that seven Cardinals aren't leading their positions because the game isn't about stacking the team with shitty players, something I've learned since I have been watching baseball for more than eight months.

So . . . . . you're suggesting there needs to be 2+ million 'write-in' votes for Fielder for All-Star DH?!?

Good luck with that campaign.

I'm not suggesting that there needs to be anything. I'm showing you that there is an easy mechanism by which it could happen, but you're clearly too ****ing stupid to understand that, and your infantile failings of grasping the obvious are mirrored in the "knowledge" of the game that you've displayed, by making an argument that Morales is somehow on the level of others due to his BA and RBI totals.

Go sit at the kids table.
