You can't just dismiss production when we're talking about a 3-4X multiplier in salary.

I'll do the math, but at a glance - Hollywood hasn't outproduced Mecole by *that* much, especially considering how many more targets he's received than Mecole.

If we had a metric ****ton of cap space, or didn't need to kick another eleventy billion of Mahomes money down the road just to sign guys, I really would be indifferent.

But money does matter, and if I can get 80% of the production and role for 25 cents on the dollar, I'm going that route.
Their use is dramatically different though. Hollywood plays like a real WR. Hardman is a gadget player. In the 700 yard year he had a bottom 3 in the league YBC/R. Basically all his yards were manufactured.

Easier said now that Hardman's fumble didn't cut our throats against Buffalo.

And when PM was able to just use his legs to save the day against SF.

But...what if Greenlaw wasn't out because he blew an achilles running out onto the field? And so we don't have Kelce abusing some practice squad caliber guy?

And now you're facing some key 3rd and gotta have it in the 4th quarter? Wouldn't you much prefer having Brown running that arrow route trying to locate the ball than Hardman?

It's the same argument made with retaining Chris Jones rather than signing Tair Tartt. Now I'm on the other side of that one but not because I don't think paying for a superstar is a better plan - it's because I don't think Jones will remain at a superstar level. If I thought Jones had 2/3 years at his 2022 level left in him, I'd pay 3 times as much for 50% more player every single time.

Because ultimately we're not looking to make the playoffs. We're looking to win 'em. And THAT'S where those major investments start to become more likely to pay off.

More critically, what's the process for counterfeiting a mod-issued infraction and sending it to someone's inbox?

Because that sounds like fun.

But that doesn't seem to stand with your "also prepare for life after Kelce" approach. Because he doesn't do anything along those lines, does he?

I just think we need to be wary of A) Presuming that life after Kelce will be some black hole at TE (it won't be - Andy's history with TEs all but assures it) and B) Trying to act like we have any idea what that offense looks like or will need.

We found life without Tyreek a hell of a lot more manageable than anyone expected. Because our QB is awesome so one-kneed JJSS was fine with some tweaks to the offense.

I just don't know that you can 'plan' for any of that. Deal with the now.
I like Hardman a ton. Never understood the dislike for him, besides the couple of stupid things he did this year.

so I did the math, and as expected - Hollywood's production is even more disappointing when you see how many ****ing targets he gets.

Dude averages 105 targets a year for 728 yards. 6.93 YPT

Mecole with his injury season pace extrapolated to a full season?

63 targets for 522 yards - 8.28 YPT.

Mecole is doing more with less. Why the hell pay someone more to do less? Hollywood ain't getting 150 targets in this offense like he did in his 1,000 yard season.

Why sign any WR's when we have extremely valuable assets such as Mecole, Skyy, and Justin Watson?!

It's hard to argue with crazy.

Hardman does stupid shit literally all the time though. That's kind of why he's never going to evolve past roster fodder.

For their careers it's 9.1 vs 6.9. But this metric is extremely sensitive to depth of target.
