Which CB, other than PP, is Veach going to trade for?

It seems very probable that Veach is going to trade for a CB before the season starts.

Who do you think is a realistic option and Veach is going to trade for? Who would you prefer?

I would think a trade with the Vikings is likely as they look to have 5 starting CBs on their roster right now. So Rhodes? Waynes?

I'm actually pretty excited about that defense. There is only the CB position to sort out really.

I know it's been discussed some in the PP thread by the way.

I doubt that Veach trades for a CB. We will most likely pickup someone that gets cut.

Can always pick up a cb in season too. I don’t feel we are far away from being serviceable at that spot. No injuries and we are fine.

What about the scrub in Pittsburgh that was a 1st or 2nd round pick a couple years ago but was benched last year and who they have effectively scrapped by signing nelson and drafting a cb high? He'd seem to fit the bill wouldn't he?

Don't forget about Reasor. Veach was high on him last year, but he wasn't ready. He got some good experience in the AAF. I'm not expecting him to start or anything, but he may be another good depth piece this year. I had forgotten about him, but I was watching that BJ Kiesel podcast the other day and he was pretty optimistic about him.

We have young depth (Reaser/Ward), just need a reliable starting veteran to pair with Fuller & Breeland.

Don’t forget Watts. I think he’s gonna surprise.

And I agree. Unless Arizona’s giving PP away, don’t think V will do any trading.
Personally, I think we’re OK with the cb’s we have, shall see?

A lot of these guys have mentioned the coaching this year. I think that’ll make a huge difference this year.

Veach flat out said they are waiting till training camp to revisit some trade opportunities that require cap space AND draft picks to obtain.

If the cost is realistic, he’s going to add somebody.

A top flight corner makes a ton of sense.

Basically then if someone steps up in TC and is balling out then we aren't acquiring anyone is what I read into the "waiting till TC" comment.

Somebody from the receiver pool is going to be used as trade-bait for a CB. There will be a trade written up and ready to go as soon as Hill returns to the lineup.

The Chiefs currently have at cornerback for 2019 -
Age and contract listed

Bashaud Breeland, 27 years old, 1 year contract for $2,000,000.

Kendall Fuller, 24 years old, 1 year left on contract for $2,025,000.

Charvarius Ward, 23 years old, two years on contract at $570,000 and $660,000.

Keith Reaser, 27 years old, 1 year contract at $820,000. Fifth round draft pick in 2014 by San Francisco

Tremon Smith, 22 years old, three years left on contract for $617,95`, $707.951, and $798,451.

Rashad Fenton, 22 years old, 4 year contract at $533,205, $632,705, $723,205, and $813,205.

Mark Fields, 22 years old with 3 year contract at $495,000, $585,000, and $675,000.

D’Montre Wade, 24 years old 1 year contract for $495,000.

Dakari Monroe, 1 year $495,000 .

Herb Miller, 21 years old with 3 year contract for $495,000, $585,000, and $675,000.

With Breeland, Fuller, Ward and then Reaser, Smith, Fenton and Fields competing for the 4th and 5th CB position, the Chiefs could open the season with this group. It is not a position of strength for them though and it would not be what KC needs for play-offs.

There are some potential trade partners though.
