My grade of our first day: C+

I love the Chiefs, but I hated what we did our first day.

You can't criticize us in terms of value or talent -- we ended up with three of the most talented players from this weekend altogether. Dorsey was a brilliant pick, and probably the best possible option we could have had.

But Albert is completely unproven at tackle. Guard is an awful position to Draft nonetheless. Giving up two picks for him seemed like a disasterous decision. Flowers is incredibly talented but he's got so many character concerns my brain is exploding.

Here's hoping we continue drafting talented players. But here's hoping we avoid some of the sloppy decisioin making from an absolutely zany day one.

No, I don't think that's it at all.

He hated my mock draft for the Steelers, in large part, because I took Albert at 23 with the intention of moving him to tackle.

He thinks that taking a player with that kind of project in the first round is bad strategy.

I would agree with him in most cases, but I've thought for a long time, before the "experts" started talking about that Albert was a tackle.

Dorsey was a great pick, a franchise pick that you don't get to make very often. I don't know why you are so down on Albert. I look at it this way, Steve Hutchison was drafted with the 17th pick in 2001. He was strictly a guard. So we grab Albert at 15, and if he is strictly a guard I think the pick still has a lot of value. Now I believe he will be a great LT. Bringing him in at LT next to Brian Waters gives us a huge left side of the line to pass protect and to carve out holes for LJ. And don't forget that means we upgraded at RT by moving McIntosh over there.

We swapped 3rd round pick (Moved down 10 spots) and gave them a 5th.

I'd rather have Albert over William, Clady, Otah and the rest of the bunch.
Exactly the point I was going to make. Why is Shaun Alexander not a Seahawk anymore? Because they let Hutchinson get away. It was a colossal **** up by the Hawks. Albert is a no lose situation IMO. He either works out as a solid LT, or probably becomes the best G in the game in the next 5 years. Basically, we got heads on a 2 headed quarter. WPI is free to use that last line and claim it as their own.

He also absolutely killed me over taking Joe Flacco in the 2nd round. They took him in the first. Mr. Flopnuts is VINDICATED!!!!!!1!!!!!!!

Me too. Slide McIntosh or Albert back in and have the offensive line this franchise has been known for.
