Are you serious? Over the last 7 games Florida has outscored opponents 369-82. That's an average of 52.7-11.7. They were up on Georgia 49-3, LSU 41-14.

Hell, every single win has been a blowout. Their smallest margin of victory was 23pts.

...and that's against the SEC. It doesn't really matter. The SEC Championship will be a playoff round with the winner going to the NC. As long as the B12 South teams take care of business, one of them will be joining the SEC Champ.

Exactly. People can have differing opinions and think OU should be #2 because of last night. However, saying OU should jump Florida because Florida played Citadel is reeruned.

Florida is going to play Alabama so it doesn't matter they win that they're going to the title game as they should.

And anyway Florida would/will destroy OU who can't win bowl games or play with speed.

OU's loss to Texas on neutral field trumps Florida's loss to Ole Miss at home. SEC is overrated this year.

Fair enough. But none of those teams are nearly as good as Texas Tech.

Orange Bowl: Georgia Tech/Florida state vs USC
Rose Bowl: Penn St vs Oregon State
Sugar Bowl: Florida/Alabama vs Cincinnati
Fiesta Bowl: Texas/Oklahoma vs Utah

The at-large bids would be USC, Florida/Alabama, and Texas/Oklahoma. Utah gets an automatic bid.

The selection process works such that:
- the Sugar and Fiesta would first pick replacements for the NCG teams: Sugar taking the loser of Florida/Alabama and Fiesta taking whichever of Texas/OU doesn't make the NCG.
- Rose bowl is set as Big 10 champ vs Pac 10 champ
- Orange gets ACC Champ

then to fill out the bowls the selection order goes Fiesta, Sugar, Orange.

In years past the Fiesta has taken the non-BCS conference at-large/automatic bid plus Utah is close to Glendale so I threw Utah in the Fiesta Bowl.

The SEC has often taken the Big East Champ so I threw Cincinnati there.

That leaves USC going to the Orange Bowl.

Not the greatest matchups, but it's how I see it going.

If I were picking the matchups still following the selection procedure I'd set the bowl games as follows:

BCS National Championship: Florida/Alabama vs Texas/Oklahoma
Orange: Florida State/Ga Tech vs Cincinnati
Rose: Penn State vs Oregon State
Sugar: Florida/Alabama vs USC**
Fiesta: Texas/Oklahoma vs Utah**

** If Florida goes to the Sugar I would have Florida vs USC. If Alabama goes I'd have Alabama vs Utah and USC in the Fiesta.
You're probably right, but how can anyone justify not putting Boise State in the BCS if they go undefeated. They already have a BCS win to their program's credit.

I could very easily see the BCS invitees be Texas/Oklahoma (depending on who doesn't play in the Big 12 championship), Florida/Alabama loser, Utah, Boise State. Also, I have to wonder if Alabama gets thumped the way Tech did last night, will Alabama drop out of BCS contention also? That would open the door for USC to get in.

Somebody is going to get royally screwed. It's likely going to be Boise State or USC.

Jesus, the SEC is teh suck this year. Alabama has beaten NO ONE yet. LSU is AWFUL, Georgia is possibly the most overrated team not named Alabama...

I will admit that Florida LOOKS good and look to be the only true contender in the SEC... but right now... who have they beat????

I just don't get how they are ranked so high right now.Texas, OU and Tech have proven themselves... Florida hasn't... yet.

It will be Boise State. Utah already earned an automatic bid. The only way Boise State can get an at-large is if Oregon State loses. Then USC would get the automatic bid to the Rose Bowl and a spot would open for BSU.

Automatic bids:
1. Florida/Alabama
2. Texas/Oklahoma/Missouri
3. Cincinnati
4. Penn State
5. Oregon State/USC
6. FSU/Ga Tech/Boston College
7. Utah

That leaves 3 spots. One will go to Florida/Alabama because the Sugar Bowl wants a SEC team. One will go to Texas/OU because the Fiesta wants a Big XII team. The last spot will go to USC unless Oregon State loses.

Just curious... how is the SEC overrated and the Big XII "proven" when the SEC teams have beaten each other and the Big XII teams have beaten each other. It's not like Texas/OU/Tech have outstanding OOC wins. Texas' big win is against OU whose big win is against Tech whose big win is against Texas. How is that different than Alabama or Florida's wins over LSU & Georgia? Seems hypocritical to me..

Chris Fowler can stick it. He's killing Ball State in the AP Poll. Well it's not just him, but he really isn't helping... most people at least have us in the 20 range... he kept them in at 25 the last couple weeks, and after a huge road win at Central Michigan, the best team in the conference for the last several years, he drops us out of the poll completely. And we drop a spot. Meanwhile, garbage like Northwestern and Michigan State hang in there. Seriously.

Hey, I didn't say we should be in the top 10, I know our schedule hasn't been super hard, but I don't think Northwestern or Michigan State have many impressive wins either. I think we could compete with all those teams in the 15-25 range. If we played those teams 10 times, we'd probably lose some of them, but we'd win quite a few too. The ACC, Big East and Big Ten haven't done THAT well, have they?

Heck, Northwestern lost to Indiana and we beat the daylights out of them, in a game where our best player was almost paralyzed.
