Have you ever had to call 911? With Poll (sorry no Gaz option)

So taking the wife to work at 5:30 this morning, a few mins into the drive I glanced in the rear view and thought I saw something. A split second later I realized what it was, a car with no lights on going WAY too fast in my lane. Had I not swerved into the other lane we would have met in my back seat. About ¼ mile down the road the light turns red and the asshat has to lock his brakes to make the stop (As much as I wanted to jump out of the car and choke a bitch I didn’t). The light turned green and the douche just stayed there, now I’m thinking WTF is wrong with this guy then I see him driving in the classis W pattern, yup a drunk mofo. Ive seen people that looked “tipsy” but never as JA as this cat on the road.

I really didn’t know what to do but I didn’t want this JA to kill someone so I called 911. Just dialing it gave me a strange feeling, talking to the operator everything about it, even looking at my phone now seeing 911 is weird. This was the first time I’ve ever had to use 911 and hopefully the last It had me wondering how many of you have had to do it and what was the reason?

My nephew called it when he was about 5 or 6. He was hanging out with three of his buddies at my brother's. They all said they did not do it. The cop made them line up and then asked the one who called to step forward. My brother was actually pretty proud of him...he stepped forward when the cop asked. He was shaking he was so scared. The cop made him sit in the car ( front ) and talked with him for a while. The cop handled it well. Trust me, that kid is not going to do that again!

I've called 911 a couple of times to report accidents; never for anything pertaining to myself.

Halloween when I was about 14 or 15, my sister and I were going to my aunts. We were driving on a dirt road and saw a car rolled in the ditch. A group of teenage guys had been out egging people cars as they drove passed and the car they had just egged slammed on the breaks so they panicked and turned too fast on the dirt road. One of the guys came running up in a blood covered white shirt and yelled to call 911, one of the other kids got thrown out and was trapped under the rolled car. When the paramedics arrived on the scene and they jacked the car up off of the guy, he passed away within minutes.

I saw an accident on the highway once. These assholes were racing on a busy highway. They were weaving back and forth through traffic, going about 75-80 on a 55mph road. Then one of the douchebags lost control, started to fishtail, and tried to steer back the other way. Then he smashed into this truck that was on his left. They pulled over, I called 911, and my friend and I just continued on with our drive.

When I was in highschool we went to Science City in St. Loius on a field trip. We were only there for about half the time we were supposed to when we heard lots of sirens and saw cops/fire/ambulance show up out of the blue. We were all ushered pretty quick after that into some big room there and didn't know at first what was going on.

Turned out that one of the idiot underclassmen that was on the trip had gone into a phone booth they had outside, called 911 and then immediately hung up right away and walked out. There was a camera that caught him doing it and when the narrowed it down to who had done it he claimed that he only hit redial....we were promptly put back on the buses and went right back home....that dumb shit. We had to go back to class for a couple hours once we got there instead of being out the whole day.

Ahh, and another one I just remembered. When my son was still a baby,,not walking yet but able to pull up and walk himself around the edges of the bed, couch, etc, he was over by the nightstand where we have the phone and reached up and pushed the phone off onto the floor with one hand and it landed upside down. It was one of those phone with the great big buttons on top. I didn't even think about it and just scooped up the phone, put the handset back in its cradle and set it back on the nightstand and I no longer took my hand off of it and it rang. I answered it and it was 911 dispatch and they asked me if there was an emergency because they had just recieved a call from our number. Apparently the way the phone landed it got the numbers 911 in there enough to get the call to go through. They took my name and stuff and didn't sound very convinced, but we found it pretty funny afterwards.

Yeah there was a car by waukomis road that was in front of me, I look down to check a cd and look up and the car was gone.. I was like ????

Seen the car in a creek ditch, it was pouring.. camaro upside down in a creek.. I go get my cell phone dial 911.. While I was on the phone another car comes by and the two of the crawl out of the ditch and get in the car and speed off..

Got ahold of a lady cop, she was being a bitch.. I did not know the cross street so she said nothing they could do and hung up on me.. I went to the gladstone police station to let them know a car flipped upside down in a creek, they made me talk on some intercom outside in the rain.. Told me they would contact me later if I could give them my information... Told them no thanks since they were not going to do anything.. They said they would contact KC police dept. since it was not their jurisdiction..

Called several times.

#1 - The huge ice storm in KC back in ?2002? Ice weighed a limb down into a transformer - tree caught fire. Called 911 for fire department.

#2 - New born baby. Choking on something. Called 911 because he wasn't breathing for a short period.

#3 - Friend at my house - causing problems - wouldn't leave the house peacefully.

#4 - One other - similar situation to the OP. Saw drunk driver, turned him in.

Neighbor beating the crap out of someone. At least 4 different times. ( not same neighbor)

Multiple car accidents.

I have MANY MANY times-

Most Recently last may when we had an Water Home birth and my son was born not breathing .

Luckily the Mid-Wife Carries Oxygen so she started it right away and I had to call 911. - it was the Scariest moment of my life.
