This loss shows deeper problems than a few players

The way that we lost this game speaks to more than just a couple of players or plays.
This loss speaks to problems deep within. I think we have severe problems within our coaching staff if not further up than that.
We are spiraling down and it appears to be untenable to the staff we have in place even with the help of a bye week.
I have always been a Reid fan, but a lot of the problems he had in Philly have followed him to KC. His play calling, inadequate game prep, stubbornness, strategy, clock management. His inability to make coaching changes and bring his family in and unwillingness to move on from them when they are obviously not working are problems that we all now face as well. There is a lot of parallels between our staff here and the ones he had in Philly.
If we are to change our losing ways some of this staff is going to have to be replaced. Where do start? Who are the coaches/assistants that need to be replaced? Even now instead of waiting until the off season.

So what? Yes, the whole division is dogshit. We could finish 8-8 and still win the division, host a playoff game, and essentially be a bye-week for the No. 5 seed.

The season is over. This team is lost.

I said this when they were on their win streak: the Chiefs are an average team. At full strength on given week they can win or lose to anybody. And they ain't at full strength.

The Giants were also playing for pride today. I don't think that can be underestimated.

In no way do these comments mean I like or support the actions or philosophy of the coaching staff. I'm just saying I don't think today's loss was preparation or coaching. Nor any of the others, nor the win streak. I think they're mutually exclusive problems. I think this franchise is going to be stuck in this mediocre 8-11 win quagmire with no potential for meaningful success as long as Andy Schottenheimer is running the show. But I don't think all of today's or recent losses' issues are coaching. I think it goes deeper.

This is just the 90's again. We'll compete for or win the division annually, sometimes despite ourselves, then get dumped in January by actual playoff quality teams.
Well said! And I have said all along we lack talent in too many areas and we are just not the physical football team we used to be because we lack talent especially in the trenches. But at least in the 90s we had a pretty good defense we don’t have that even now.

Have we met? Me calling him Schottenheimer clearly indicates I believe there's a coaching problem. Marty was the worst. I've been saying that on this board for, what, 16 years now?

By deeper I mean personnel problems. You know, like I talked about in the post you quoted.

Anyway, I'm out. Up for work in 6 hours.

So sick of seeing that Andy is the problem
Smith is the problem. Luckily we made a move and got Mahomes. Andy knows what Smith can and can't do. I'm pretty confident when Mahomes plays next season then offense will be more dangerous. Smith scares no one. Every damn game he whimps out and doesn't make then throws that win games or he misses on wide open guys. He is the problem. Alone.

Nope

Andy decides who the QB is. So no matter what the head coach is always partly to blame when you lose

All teams lack talent in places. Yet they are able to out perform what we have been able to put out there. Coaches, good coaches find ways to mask those deficiencies. Something that we have not been able to do very well especially over the last 5 weeks.

Well when you start out your original post with "I tend to disagree" that meant that you didn't agree with my post that coaching was the problem. So that is why I didn't understand. Personnel, players, is more superficial than deeper problems

The only reason I'm really rooting to win the division is so that our collapse isn't 100% embarrassing.

Also, I don't want Oakland or LAC to win anything or see any success at our expense.

Andy is responsible for all decisions here just like he was in Philly when they could not get it done either.

Or this one.

Andy Reid is not an issue with our offense. He's NEVER had any offensive issues in the NFL for the most part. He's a ****ing LEGENDARY offensive coach. He has HALL OF FAME offensive credentials.

Until he ran into Alex Smith.
You are showing a couple of plays. Thats only one side of the truth. Both teams had issue with balls going to the ground. It was windy and he was throwing against his body. On the second gif you posted Alex was under pressure. The receiver is frickin turned the wrong way. He should be turning towards the middle of the field, meaning cut inside, he is in a awkward position. He had is guy beat all he had to do was run up straight and not towards the outside. why is he looking for the ball in that position. It was an easy throw had he cut inside when he had his guy beat because there was no safety either. I was scratching my head why he kept running to outside. However I do knock on Alex for the interception in the 4th quarter on his overthrow. Its not just Alex, they are playing bad as a unit. The offense line and run game is total trash now. I see guys with no dude to block. That's where it comes down to coaching, Andy has never been a guy who adjusts well to difficult situations. You come of having a week off and lose to the giants, something is clearly wrong with the team. Alex, coaches, the run game and the o-line and wide receivers all have to improve. You can be open but you still have to be in the right position. Like don't keep running to the outside when you have your guy beat, cut back in to increase your chances of completing that throw.
