Im confused on this restructure thing?

BUT, if we can keep him at the same cost of cutting him, that does make sense. Basically a sunk cost and we can still upgrade the position. Frank could help a young guy, he has the know how and attitude you want, just not the play.

If they can renegotiate to bring his cap number down to what it would have cost to release him, then it makes perfect sense. We’re already losing enough guys on the d-line. Certainly still need to upgrade, though.

I don’t understand how we can pull this off. Most logical is that you turn the base salary in bonus so you can spread it out. But that just takes next years dead cap from $6m to something way higher. Don’t know why we wouldn’t just cut and run
