Who are Chiefs' likeliest first-round draft picks per ESPN's draft day predictor?

ESPN Analytics recently put together a draft day predictor tool that’s quite unique. It scours ESPN’s mock drafts and pre-draft rankings to create charts showing the likeliest prospects to be selected by a team at a given pick.

Below you can find the top 10 players who are most likely to be selected by Kansas City in Round 1. There’s a healthy blend of positions and prospects, but five of those players play on the defensive line.

I just don’t see Mazi being it the longer we go. I just don’t know that the chiefs value that position enough and when I think about over all boards there’s no way there aren’t other guys they have higher available, but that’s just me.

It has to be a WR that Veach has his eye on.

In those horrible times before Veach most peoples hair has been on fire about our WR depth. A 2nd for Dhop would have been done day 1 the trade was offered under Pioli/King Carl.

In Veach we trust

The Chiefs have the last pick in the first round and if you told me someone was a 10% chance of being the pick, I’d say that’s pretty high given every possible permutation leading up to it.
These annual exercises always amaze me. tens of thousands of combined hours putting together stuff that falls apart by the 6th pick.

Veach has learned the lesson of "patience is a virtue" never being impulsive "reaching for the shiny toy first that will soon rust and break". And when he did "pick the shiny toy" it wasn't impulsive because he did his thorough homework and the proof that he did his extensive homework is that the "shiny toy still shines"

Taking out Mahomes, 6/9 first rd draft picks for the Chiefs were used on a lineman in the Andy Reid era.

That counts the first we used to trade back and select Jones. Also interesting the first pick in 2018 was Speaks..a lineman.

Sensing a trend here..

And take a close look at PFF ratings because last season's draft mirrored PFF's value board.

But you’re missing the point: the NFL draft is pure entertainment. These mocks and a fan’s ability to fantasize about the different possibilities are the NFL’s equivalent of an NCAA March Madness bracket. This is a sport within the sport and it generates tons of interest and revenue, regardless of whether someone is actually any better at getting into the heads of 32 NFL GMs.

The value for us is in terms of the players analyses more than the mocks themselves.

McDonald is very small. I don't like small D linemen. I want them big strong mean athletic mofos. Like Frank Clark but who gives effort on every play. On the O Line, I don't want them too big. Just enough big. Harrison would be solid if Broderick Jones or Darnell Wright were impossible to get in a trade.
I still believe solidifying the OL should be priority #1. Harrison is a natual LT so you can put him there and swinging Taylor back to his normal spot. But even for him we might trade up. Both Cincy and Buffalo still have needs in their O Lines.
