he keeps getting better and better, from MVP level in his first year starting to GOAT MVP level that he is now.

That injury in the playoffs made him had to change his game to more pocket passing and he excelled.

We need to replace 900 yards and 3 TDs on a WR. I think that's do-able.

Taylor’s success rate will have a lot to say on Veach’s grade for the off-season. That’s a huge contract.

He’s literally hitting his prime age as an athlete. Not sure how he would regress anytime soon.

No one's worried about Mahomes' level of play. Some of us are worried about the receivers' level of play. If Toney goes down for an extended period of time, and somehow all we have on the shelf are MVS, Skyy, and 'insert name of JAG/rookie here,' it's going to be a real problem, especially if we don't get McKinnon back.

McK accounted for over 500 yards receiving, and 10 TDs (9 receiving). And however many 1st downs. Hardman gave us 6 more TDs, 4 in the RZ. Basically, KC is short about 20 TDs worth of production from last season. never mind the 1st downs and yards. At 51 TDs/season, we're talking 3 TDs/game average.

If Toney goes down for an extended period and Skyy becomes the go-to WR, the current theory is that somehow Skyy will step up and produce at a high level. Except that the DC will automatically assign their CB1 or CB2 to Skyy, not their CB3/4. And we've seen this movie before; Skyy will probably get shut down.

Now what?

Andy can only scheme guys open so many times; at some point in every game players are going to have to win their battles against the guy across from them.

We expect Justin Watson to step up? He's a limited receiver, closer to MVS than Toney in terms of capabilities.

One of the Ross boys? Justyn has had a chronic problem creating separation. John has never been able to stay healthy, and at the end of the day he's basically just another version of MVS.

And so on.

The fact is that last season KC leaned really hard on Travis and McKinnon to be consistently productive, but also to be nails in every tough situation. Hardman stepped up several times during the season when he was available as well, including that catch to convert in the AFCCG when he got hurt.

It will be a real problem if Skyy can't consistently perform if Toney goes down. And with CB1s/2s on him instead of CB3/4s, I'm not sure how realistic it is to bet he'll make that performance leap.

A regression from one of the greatest seasons of all time to merely an all pro level season probably keeps KC out of the Sb last year is the thing.

Would it be great if Justyn Ross could do what JuJu did and John Ross could be Mecole, yea sure but the odds of that are like less than 1%.

Notice in that clip that James Palmer aid the WR class in the draft lacks talent. Probably why they’re aiming for Hopkins and OBJ

What is it that Me ole does that John Ross can’t do? Mecole couldn’t run routes, he couldn’t manipulate defenders well and he couldn’t find the open zones. He was just speed and scheme.

So why can’t Ross do that?

I think they may have that exact plan and thought process tbh

Seriously guys. Hardman has only missed one swath of games, and that was this season. Out of a possible 98 games, John Ross was able to dress for 37 of them. We're talking two completely different tiers of injury prone here.

Not get hurt?

John Ross has the fastest 40 ever ran by a WR at the combine...he was drafted before Mahomes..he also gets hurt every 5 seconds.

I could see him playing the Hardman/Hill short game. Jet sweeps, drags, slants (not that Andy is a fan of those,) short outs, reverses, etc. Have him touch the ball a bit more than Toney did last year but under a very managed snap count.

He's clearly not an every down player. He's proven that. So don't try - use him as he's best used.

If a guy is dirt cheap you can ask him to only do one thing and be a bit player. Ross is cheap. If all he does is the motion stuff, jets, etc. he might be able to stay healthy and be a weapon. You don't want that out of your 1st round pick but a dirt cheap vet?

If things don't go our way we could at least use him in specific packages.
