@AdamSchefter: Chiefs are expected to trade CB Marcus Peters to the Los Angeles Rams, sources tell ESPN. Teams are in final stages of talks and barring an unexpected snag, the trade is expected to be agreed to as early as today.

@AdamSchefter: Marcus Peters to LA Rams trade is now officially agreed to, per source; cannot be processed until March 14. But Peters expected to be a Ram.

Meh, he was a young hot head coming out of college. They thought they could handle him and help him mature. This is on Marcus Peters. No one else.

Exactly Dane. Kelce has appeared to mature on the field this season. We’ll see going forward if that’s the case.

His play, in a vacuum, is absolutely no reason to trade him, especially without trading him for a premium return.

Marcus Peters bears responsibility for his actions on the field and off the field. Four Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalties, jawing with the fans, throwing a flag into the stands and quitting on his team have absolutely NOTHING to do with Andy Reid, his coaching staff, the front office and ownership.

His petulant behavior lies solely on the shoulders of Marcus Peters, The Chiefs Franchise and its players are not responsible for keeping Peters "in line".

That's on Marcus Peters.
We'll agree to disagree.

The Chiefs took the bargain boon in Peters, knowing why they were getting a steal. Marcus didn't get to choose the Chiefs.

Does that excuse Peters from responsibility? No, not at all. But the Chiefs were the party to initiate the relationship and were in charge, and they bungled it. Shit happens

The Chiefs will be left picking up the pieces while Peters will likely get exactly what he wants.

"We" didn't.

Apparently, according to one report, the Chiefs have been offering up Steven Nelson since acquiring Fuller.

Another report stated that the Chiefs asked for Robert Quinn in the Peters trade but were rebuked.

I'm not sure why people are making the leap to Ford being traded (he'd have to pass a physical first, something that hasn't happened yet) but attempting to acquire Quinn should be mutually exclusive from trading Ford, IMO.

Quinn's a great outside pass rusher and would make an immediate impact on the Chiefs defense.

Their safeties, beyond Berry, and no one know how long his body will hold up, are generally well below average in Sorensen, Murray and an average Ron Parker.

Beyond that, depth is needed everywhere.

Completely agree with all this... think that is why we are stock piling assets and will invest heavily in defense in both the draft and FA.

Peters is another player that would have conformed under Belichick, if I were to bet.

****ing up on Peters doesn't mean they have no idea how to handle troubled players, but you could say they bungled this particular situation.

I don’t think it meant he was being traded but more so being let go next season.

This was all true this past season, aside from sending Peters packing, and we were middle of the pack at worst.

We're better off than Oakland, a bit behind LAC and not much worse off than Denver.

You have absolutely zero proof that the Chiefs "bungled it".

Are you a manager of any sort? Have you ever run a department of people? If so, you'd know that some people are easy to manage, do their job, don't make a fuss and others are just unmanageable.

That's the case here: Peters clearly became too much to manage. The Chiefs franchise can't play babysitter to one player when there's 52 others on the Active Roster and another 10 players on the Practice Squad.

Yes, and when you're trading an all pro early in his career, something went wrong. But I'm guessing Peters is helping making sure it doesn't work out.
