Jones - Once Lynch and whichever CB Dorsey desired most were off the board, trading down made sense. If he can get rotational snaps this season (which seems to be a struggle with Sutton in charge of the defense, but whatever) it's a decent pick. It's an even better if he proves to be a starter in light of a Poe FA departure.

Russell - Odds are he's going to have a rough time if he winds up being the corner opposite Peters by Week 1. Probably going to need safety help to minimize being exposed by better passers. Boom or bust pick in a boom or bust phase of the draft. Don't mind the pick even with his injury and disciplinary history.

Ehinger - My feeling is he'll be a big factor -good or bad- if Morse gets another concussion is forced to miss several games. Fulton to center, Ehinger to guard if that were to occur.

Murray - If he plays the whole season as a quality STer, the pick is a win. If he plays this year and beyond as a solid NB then it's icing on the cake.

Robinson - Developmental WR that has discipline issues. Not going to be too much of a surprise if he flames out and never breaks into the top four receiver slots. Given the knock on him his apparently unpolished route running, it feels like a stretch to say he'll be supplanting any of the WRs on the depth chart ahead of him any time soon. Pick would be worth it if he makes the field as a return man. Obviously it'd be a coup if he stays on the straight and narrow and is able to use his physical gifts as a WR #3 or (best case) WR #2.

Hogan - Bye bye, Bray. Hogan got comped to Palko.. that's less than optimal. But hey, at least they don't have to go out and spend money on a backup for the next two or three seasons.

Hill - I'm amazed Clark Hunt didn't veto this pick in light of Belcher's murder/suicide three years ago. Pretty much the defintion of an indefensible pick in a post-Belcher /Greg Hardy NFL. If Oakland or Denver picked this guy or even signed him as a UDFA there'd be much cackling about how ****ed Mackenzie and ELway are for taking a flier out on a wifebeater. Don't like this pick at all -I don't care if he's a lab experiment freak combination of Darren Sproles, Dante Hall and Devin Hester combined.

White - Peace out, Marcus Cooper. Safe to say the Chiefs have the nickel covered and he'll be a steal of the 2016 draft if he snakes the second corner spot between now and next year. Should be a solid, dependable guy worth dressing out weekly if he stays healthy.

Nicolas - Keep throwing out pass rush projects and surely one of them along the line will stick.

That pick is easily the most hated from draft pundits

From what I can remember most web sites were pretty high on Morse

Oh my God Chris Jones ran a 7.11 3 cone at his pro day? That's just insane.
I know pro days are a bit skewed, but even looking at his 7.44 3 cone at the combine is still incredible for a a man that big.

1) Fully agree with the 1st round trade down. Value wasn't there - good decision.

2) A) I wasn't a fan of going NT/DE with the high 2nd but I also don't think we reached. I would have preferred we went with G/ILB/CB here but I still think we got a good player and I think we can all agree Poe needs less snaps to extend his season and career.
B) I wasn't a fan of the low 2nd trade down. I feel there was talent there and if anything we should have packaged picks to move up to the 3rd. Once again while I think we could have made a better choice I don't think we made a bad one in who we ended up with.

3) Round 4 is where my big problem is. I feel we reached at G (who I still think is good enough to start day 1 for us) when there were much better options at the position. I was actually surprised how much talent fell to the 4th.

To me Killebrew would have been a great selection this round and a perfect box S, allowing Berry to move to single high full time or one of our other selections.

Booker falling to the Donks was a disaster. I think 10 years from now he'll be looked at as, at worst, the 2nd best HB in this draft. If he stays healthy perhaps the best.

After the first two picks this round I turned it off...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Keep in mind regarding Lynch: if they really wanted him, they wouldn't have called Dallas back, who was trying to get in position for him:

Quote:
The Chiefs called. Said they’d trade from 28 to 34 but only if Dallas included its three, not the four. No dice. Bengals picked cornerback William Jackson III. Steelers up. Pittsburgh never considered trading at No. 25 and made a pick quickly: cornerback Artie Burns.

Can someone link me to the proof the CHIEFS wanted and actively pursued Lynch. I think it was bulshit to make Elway burn a third in a heavy mid-round draft class. Thanks in advance.

Demarcus Robinson starts day 1 and will have a solid rookie year. Albert Wilson isn't that good and unless Conley breaks out, I see Robinson having a good rookie season.

Eric Murray was a good pick and one of those CBs should work out and somebody is going to have to replace Sean Smith. With all of these CBs we have now and Gaines healthy, Flemming and Cooper are probably on the chopping block.

Chris Jones, Im ok with that pick. Our d-line is already disgusting and having this guy rotating in should be good.

Tyreek Hill, I'm expecting an exciting return game. A lot of domestic abuse issues, he's going to have to be straight edge and learn from what he allegedly did.

The rest I'm not sure about, wouldn't be surprised if that guard is a bust.

There was never really any smoke to that theory. The only shred of anything at all was the fact that the Chiefs scouted him and had meetings with him, which really just falls under due diligence. It's smart to do that, especially with QBs, in case a guy happens to fall in your lap.

But there's no indication the Chiefs were ever interested or that they were somehow outmaneuvered as the CP memes suggest

So, maybe um confused, but shouldn't we have taken the Cowboys 4th and went down to 34? Wasn't that a better deal than what we got?

This is just stupid.

Elway is a ****ing HOF QB and a Super Bowl winning GM. I don't think he needs to pump out bullshit to justify trading a late 3rd rounder for an eventual starting QB.

I think people in Denver will give him a pass by default.
