Man, he could spin the ball. Just a cannon. And he married up, too. Ashley Guy is, if possible, an even nicer person than Chase. And a damn good athlete in her own right.

If they have a son, he'll play football or baseball at Mizzou, pretty sure of it.

It's not just Trey-tor Millard (OU FB). It's also the DT who went to Nebraska, and Ofodile, and seemingly every decent talent out of RB (Aron White, TE, Logan Gray, QB to Georgia).

Missouri has not had much luck getting the true stars out of Columbia, MO.
lulz, logan gray goes to my gym and works at the same bank as my girlfriend does (his mother is the big boss). nice guy, but he flamed out HARD at georgia.

Yeah, she's a sweetheart. They had a little boy around the same time we did, but I haven't talked to him in a while.

He could spin it, that's for sure. It was pretty unfair in flag football, lol.

He is a super nice dude though. He was a TA in one of the many labs we had, and the instructor always called him chase daniel. Pretty funny.

however, it wasn't cool that they always won the intramural football tourney.
We made it to the semi's of that tourney on Stankowski with my law school squad in 2006. The team that beat us had one dude that was about 6'8'' and we'd keep getting pressure on them but they'd just chuck it up high and he'd go up and get it over double coverage.

It was like the Chiefs/Colts playoff game - we just couldn't stop 'em. Damn intramural teams. We had a guy actually tear his hamstring in one of those games - the back of his leg was bright purple for a month. I had a straight up Chris Carter moment diving out of the back corner of the endzone and dragging my feet to make an over the shoulder catch on a 2 point conversion. I guess I feel better knowing that we'd have just gotten housed in the finals by Chase Patton's friggen pickup squad.

I miss being athletic. Now I end up with sore feet after 2 nights of softball. Stupid old age...

The fact of the matter is that the money doesn't matter all that much anymore. By that, I mean the SEC schools have plenty, and so do the Big 12 schools. One league distributing 2-3 million a year more than the other in a given year doesn't make a difference.

What does matter is how the money is used. The Big 12 has been flat out told and shown that not having enough teams for a CCG puts them at a disadvantage. Unfortunately for them, they have chosen to ignore their huge issue because they're worried about losing money when they should be worried about losing playoff appearances.

All the money in the world doesn't do a football program a bit of good when you choose to guard it like the dragon in Beowulf.

Yeah, I hear ya.

I shredding a hamstring trying to stretch a double during school and couldn't hardly push the foot pedal to spin my drill in clinic. It was pretty embarrassing.

I dunno that chase would have been therr in 06, he graduated a year ahead of me in 2013.

But yeah, getting old Sucks. Gotta stick to golf and old dreams at this point

Looks like his first year on campus was 2004 as a redshirt so by 2006 he'd have been in his redshirt soph year.

You could be right - like I said, I never actually played him. I'm just choosing to believe that he'd have been waiting for us in the finals to grind us in to dust so I can let go of the fact that we could put like 8 guys on that damn massive WR of theirs in the semis and still couldn't stop him. !@#$

I'm sure you guys would have lost anyway, so don't feel bad.

In my days at MSU, we had a pretty spectacular intramural ball team, composing of a few Hugh school all staters and such. We were well balanced, had good bigs etc.

But we always ran into the damn football team and clay harbour always beat us. Either the semi's or finals, every year save for 1, where the soccer team just out ran us.

Yeah, I miss being an athlete though.

I don't think Patton would have been waiting for you, but Corby Jones might have been. I forget which year he graduated, but it was around that time. He destroyed my intramural team single-handedly one year.

We had a guy break his tibia in intramurals against Corbs and company. He was playing deep safety with me, and we both went up for a deep ball over the middle. I picked it off and had a decent return, he broke his leg (hairline). He didn't realize it, went home, was still feeling the pain and finally went to the doctor. Turned out it was broken, and the damage inside was putting the nerve and his lower leg at risk.

After he got out of surgery, the doc told him if he'd waited another 6 hours, they might have had to amputate the lower leg due to the interior damage and nerve issues. Or something like that.

What year did you graduate law school? If you were there in 06, you were there at the same time as my wife.

Unless he was just chilling on campus waiting to kick teeth in, Corby had already moved on to dominating alumni golf tournaments as a young associate at Shook Hardy by then. I'm pretty sure he graduated the year before I got there.

I graduated in spring '07.

He started his own shop but it didn't work out for whatever reason.

I thought he was at Spencer Fane? I suppose it's possible he went back to Shook.

He's had an interesting legal career. I think he's probably a pretty decent attorney but I wonder if firms aren't bringing him in largely for name value and one-off cases here and there. He seems to be something of a nomad that's never really stuck on a partnership track.

Admittedly, that could be wildly unfair and is based only on the fact that the novelty of Corby Jones practicing law keeps his name floating about silly legal sewing circles, but that's the impression I've gotten.
