Thinking about getting one. My wife and I have 3 kids and not sure if we want more. Anyone had one done and is it painful?

Other than the local, the actual procedure was a piece of cake. Even then, the local didn't sting any more than it would anywhere else.

I drove myself home fine. I wore baggy clothes afterward---big mistake. The swelling caused the boys to rub against my thighs and I really bruised them. Once I switched to briefs for some support, I felt a lot better. The only pain I felt afterward was when I had to urinate and that went away once I took a piss.

One other thing. You never realize how much your kids jump on your crotch until you're recoveringy from a vasectomy. OUCH

get a scrotum support. its a jockey strap with a hole in it. you do not want gravity pulling down on those testicles. good luck.

Yep. And I was still loaded for bear in 3 separate, ahem, 'specimens' spread out over a month, before my man juice became barren of swimmers.

My advice is to find a doctor that will put you out if you think you'll really get nervous during the procedure. That's what I did and went from laying in a doctor's office one minute and walking out about an hour and a half later. I don't remember anything.

My procedure went great, in fact I was up and working around the house the very next day. My big mistake was two days later however when I was on the ATV bucking snow drifts in the ditch. I bottomed out on one and thought I'd split myself down the middle. So scratch off any activity like that for a while.

I'm 25 and I'm considering getting one in the near future to ensure that I never have kids. If I change my mind, I figure that there are plently of underprivaledged kids to adopt
